And yes, that will make C&D's predictions and statements on the 2015 Z06 to being their fourth (4) "wrong answer." Earlier ones: Wrong about it being called a Z07, wrong about it first appearing as a 2016, and wrong about it topping out at less than $100K.

Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter has already addressed the base pricing of the C7 Z06, and while he hasn't given the actual number, he has said that it's base price will be faily close to the C6's last year C6 price of $75,900. The base price of this car will be, IMO, $78,995, so that when you add in the transportation amount, the price will start at a number beginning with a "7". Very, very close to an "8", but still a "7".

We went thorough the same erroneous car magazine pricing predictions one year ago when the StingRay was first announced. Remember a magazine saying the base price would be $59,995. And other car mags saying $57K, with a third saying $55K. Were we pleasantly pleased when the StingRay's base price was announced at $51,000!!!

Agree with all details above - but their pricing comment got me pretty excited...what do you guess sticker will be with all the boxes checked?

I would venture to say that a fully loaded C7 Z06 with engine build - 99,500.00 - ;-) My wishful insight.
Sure agree that is "wishful," for a loaded C6 Z06 without engine build ($5,800) and without custom VIN ($5,000) was $103,000.

However, there are items that many will de-select, e.g., the Z07 package, the PDR, the custom VIN, etc.

I don't see it as wishful at all. Note, the C7 Z06 should cost GM less to build as a delta from the base vehicle because so many parts, including the frame are identical. A lot of the Z06's increased cost was the outsourcing of things such as the frame. With the new Z06 the cars can run down the line is batches right next to the base and Z51 cars from the frame shop on down.

Exact words on pricing is, that if you can afford the previous Z06 you can afford this one and will be pleased with pricing...so people don't have to worry about that: Harlan Charles @ NAIAS today. Some interesting pricing considerations, because of Z06's following standard components:

A) All come with MSRC (cost-avoidance potential from StingRay to Z06 equals $1,800);
B) All come with eLSD and other Z-51 components (cost-avoidance potential from StingRay to Z06 equals $2,800);

And I personally believe there is a further StingRay option that will be included in all Z06's, the inclusion of NPP. This has not been confirmed, but due to the complexity of all LT4's have three "motor operating modes," -- 4-cyclinder ECO mode, 8-cyclinder non-supercharged mode, and 8-cylinder supercharged mode) doubt that there will be two different exhaust operating systems (so much simpler and cheaper to just engineer and manufacture one), and thus the potential to therefore avoid the $1,200 StingRay NPP system upcharge that a majority of StingRay owners are selecting.

Unfortunately, probable that pricing and exact options will not be released until late April, or even until late summer.
