For those who have been wanting a "flat-bottomed" steering wheel, Caravaggio has just completed its prototype.

Price (quote from John @ Caravaggio)

$1095.00 with you sending me back your core
$1395.00 and you keep your core
This price does not include the horn pad.
$645.00 for the horn pad

This steering wheel is a big deal for me. I didn't order a 2014 as I'm waiting on GM to offer this as an accessory on either the current production run or 2015 run come late July 2014. Glad there is an aftermarket option available. Going to still wait for the 2015 model before ordering and hope GM gives us this option by then.

Looks nice but for a grand I'd rather invest in performance tuning

I would of though bottom would be higher..
looks like steering wheel height is the same so now the side part protrudes more to be flat level with middle.
Would think it would have a more room appeal but this way there is less room.
If was smaller I think I would like it :/

Anyone has measurements to compare that to stock?
Edited found some info
Just to clarify - is the final diameter of the wheel the same as the stock wheel or is it slightly larger / smaller?
In some area it's smaller and other areas it's thicker

Maybe I should have said circumference - I'm trying to figure out if the wheel, as measured from one side to the other is the same - 360mm?

It is the same except the bottom is smaller by 3/4"

Call Caravaggio Corvettes: 905.761.5787 (Toronto).

Ask for John. He headed up this project and will know the answer. Please post back what you find. Thanks.

Thank you john for putting the prices right upfront on this post, too much on all the sites of vendors putting up their wares that are astronomically expensive and not showing the prices..wheels, detailing procedures, steering wheels, etc....

The flat bottom steering wheel is an icon item in any car related to sport. From low end performance to exotics, the flat bottom steering wheel is form following function. Just as those who complain about the loss of the round tail lights saying the car lots it's root to true Corvette tradition. Not having a flat bottom steering leaves the car lacking a sports car image, and without it you do not have the interior look and feel of one.

Why do you think Audi interiors win so many awards for interior design? The German manufacturer knows what makes a sports car interior look and feel sporty. Not having a flat bottom steering wheel in the Corvette in my opinion leaves it lacking in that great overall interior look and feel. I for one love this look and have it in every true sports car I own.

You can get them to match your interior too
I ordered the brownstone

Looks great Mecholova! If I did one like that mine would probably have the suede leather at the top and bottom, can they do it like that, or maybe just all brown leather with the center cap in the suede? Redoing the center cap leather doesn't screw with the air bag does it?

Yup! You can pick the colors and layout to your liking. John is easy to work with on it.

As far as the horn pad, that's a separate option from the D bottom wheel. Unofficially, I would say that since it's wrapped, it shouldn't interfere with airbag deployment nor would the weight affect it. Legally, no clue ;)
