Carbon flash is a paint color, nothing more, it is closest to other mfrs black metallic...everything is painted with it. The code is 501Q.

All 2015 StingRay's come from the factory with body panel colored door mirrors and the rear spoiler, unless one orders option "TTV," which as Glen E mentioned above, results in carbon flash paint being applied to sheet molded compound door mirrors and to the rear deck spoiler. TTV is a $100 option.

The carbon metallic is a nice option. I just saw a few 2015's with the optional Shark Grey inserts and while it is a nice color it conflicts with the front hood, front grill, rear black fascia and both spoilers. They remain carbon metallic. With that being said it adds yet another color to the car and to me is just too much. If the Shark Grey inserts are your choice then the spoilers, front grill and hood vents should all be repainted to match. Cars look best to me with just 2 maybe 3 colors including the interior. For example, I saw a 2015 Velocity Yellow with Shark Grey inserts option, Carbon Metallic spoilers and Kalihari interior, YUCK! From behind it was yellow, grey tail light inserts, black lower fascia and carbon black spoiler and it just had a lot of conflict (4 colors) with no flow. The chrome wheels added yet another color so from the side with the door open you had yellow, chrome, shark grey, carbon metallic and Kalihari. Just my opinion.

I am blown away by the contrast of the carbon flash spoiler/side mirrors on the AW/AR version of the Z51 and that is what my car will have. It came accidentally without the carbon flash option which was ordered so we are going to paint them in accordance with the factory requirements. I was just not sure if there would be a problem of a painted side mirror considering the number of moving parts, such as the fold-able and adjustable side mirrors, which I was worried could abrade the paint and show the plastic material underneath. Thank you for your responses

Thank you! I'll stand corrected, upon further review, I can see the Orange Peel in them also.

On my 2015 Z06 coupe I chose the Shark Gray color with spectra gray wheels and red calipers. To enhance the gray I chose a carbon fiber roof.....carbon flash mirrors......visible carbon fiber ground effects.......with a carbon flash full length racing stripe. What is gonna set all this off is the adrenaline red interior with competition seats and carbon fiber interior trim package. Believe me this is gong to be one of the more perfect combos. This car is gonna be HOT. This combo is gonna flow. Well I am being positive anyway...lol

Dear dpmdc , On the optional Shark Grey vent insert cars you saw, was the hood vent also Shark Grey? Or does in remain carbon metallic? Have a Shark Grey car with black interior on order and assumed the EFX option meant the hood vents as well. I completely agree about your 'flow' comments. If you ever could post a photo of a car with EFX, would really appreciate it! Thanks.

Hi George!

I posted 17 pictures yesterday of a VY with the option. Look under side vents color thread.
