Just read that the performance data recorder will be standard on all 2015 stingrays? Sounds like someone is trying to spy. Does this mean anything you do can and will b used against you in the court of law?
Satellite videos and dash cam, you can run but you can't hide. Just kidding on star will turn off the car. Although none of us are planning on robbing a bank I'm sure.

Really? Sounds like an expense option to add on for free. Wonder if that means the base price will go up to compensate for this?

With the GPS system 5x's stronger than current, I doubt it will be standard.

How about a poll on the MSRP?

My guesstimate. $1,750 for the option

As a result of this post, just re-read all the official GM information about the PDR and the only words I have seen is that this system "will be available." Based on GM's repeated use of this phrase over many years, it has historically meant "available as a option one can choose." GM will have significant costs in the new PDR system, and typically does not want to force a price increase (most estimate about $1,000-$1750) into all 2015 StingRays.

However, perhaps update PDR information was just released indicating I am wrong in my assumption that it will be a separate, purchasable option. Source please?

I would hope it wouldn't be standard. Forcing everyone to be spied on. That would be scary

As John said, it won't be standard. Even if it were, you will not be spied on with the PDR. However, you already can be spied on with OnStar. You realize you cannot opt-out of OnStar data collection, even if you cancel your subscription and do not pay, right? Read the fine print in your OnStar contract. It may shock you. It did me.

Ya I remember that from watching horrible bosses. They got into a car chase. Onstar goes "we're locking your vehicle and shutting off your car, please wait to be arrested"
