I have read lots of comments across the web concerning "issues" @ Bowling Green that include, but are not limited to; Supplier constraints, assembly line bugs, fitment issues, and the general issues one might expect to be found on the manufacture of a new automotive platform. All this said, there seems to be some agreement that "customer cars" will begin to move on the assembly line in August. Based on the chatter I've seen, it seems GM is not in a hurry to rush things before the quality level meets the expectations of the people that designed the platform, and those whose job it is to make sure that the finished vehicle meets established internal quality standards. I don't know if any of you were aware of the launch of GM's Kappa platform (Solstice / Sky) back in 2006. It was fraught with a host of leaking convertible top problems, mechanical driveline issues, and a few other things that quickly became a nightmare for GM and early owners. I suspect GM will do whatever it can to prevent that ever happening again, especially on the much beloved Corvette.
