Well the time has finally come. We arrived at the museum a day early, around 1pm. Stayed all afternoon. But here is the kicker.... We were actually on Corvette Blvd. when they drove our crystal red into delivery area #5!!!!:)
Yes... I did get some tears. Even made my wife cry when she saw me tear up. I'll try to "man-up" tomorrow. This is too much! I don't understand all of this emotion. I'm 61 years old and this is my 7th Corvette... but some how this is a way different experience.

If you aren't doing anything.... Checkout the museum webcams, wednesday morning at 7:45CST delivery area #5. Crystal red, chrome wheels!;)

Very cool. Understandable. Fear not, by tomorrow afternoon, the tears will turn to giggles when you take it on the road.

I've had this on since 7am, east time. They're finally in the car! I had hoped to tell them how it all looked on camera but the chronology is getting far too long.

Before you arrived...

As you're on the way for coffee, I'm watching #5...it's been tuned in for a while... I forgot the time difference. Christy and Scarlet are almost identical twins. Christy's calipers are the difference. The only action at #5 has been a pretty big guy in a yellow shirt leaning over and squeezing himself in. There was a white C7 and a lot of action directly in front of yours. They're gone now and you haven't yet arrived. It's now 7:30.

Wish I would have done NCM. That said, seeing and watching Christy feels like Scarlet is being re-delivered, albeit vicariously.

Ah ha...about 7:40 and you've arrived!!! Must be chilly up there. Thanks for the wave. Can't see what's written on the signs you held up but you guys look really happy. LOL. (Phew, the big guy looks even bigger now.) Badges on...you're cleared for pre-launch. The three of you are chatting up a storm. And still chatting. At this poiint, I wouldn't be surprised if you're thinking "hey, let's get to it!" Looks like the Mrs. may be thinking the same...she's starting to wander. Time for a second cup for me.

Would love to know what you guys are still chatting about...Obamacare? LOL. Ahhh, some movement. The Mrs. looks like she's getting excited...waved again. Tell her I waved back...silly me. Now a few minutes before 8 and, all of a sudden, you disappeared. It's now 8:17am and you have been out of sight for a long time. Doing paperwork? Tour? Oh...the agony. While you're doing whatever, folks are walking by and reading your signs.

Well, it's after 10am, Daytona time. Christy looks lonely and Scarlet wants to take a ride along the coast before it starts raining. We'll scope out the stretch of road that we've targeted for 0-60 and 1/4 sprints after break-in. If you're still at the NCM when we return, I'll be watching.

Back at 11:40 and still quiet on the set at BG. Gotta be a story up there somewhere. I'm sure you'll share it.

12:45...I'm eating lunch and you're finally in the car. Hoooooray. Must have been a pretty decent interior session...done in 45 mins. Seeing your hood up, I just realized I haven't yet looked for the dipstick under Scarlet's skirt. Need to do that asap. Now to the hatch. Not sure but I thought I saw your transport cover. I kept mine, though it is a mess and now in the attic in large trash bag. (I'm shaking my head. My entire delivery was 20 minutes including paperwork.) Still chatting at the open hatch. Closed. Oooops, open. You must be ready to hit road...the winter coat goes on! I see you had the same issue as many of us in closing the hatch. Just leave the window or door open a crack and it will be fine until the seals are broken in.

Ropes are down...Big guy pulling it out at 1:55, BG time. Hope the ride home is wonderful! CONGRATS!

You first get a tour of the Assembly Plant (just 1/3 mile away). As they took their own tour of the Museum itself yesterday, they decided to forego the Museum tour, going for a long factory tour instead. Spent just under three hours on that tour, but all must first watch a 20 minute safety video.

Nice thing is that you choose what your day will be like, i.e., your Museum Delivery can be just the presentation of your car; and add in the BGAP tour; and/or, add in the Museum tour. Never known anyone to not take the Assembly Plant Tour however.
