Many solutions to this - many written here...just search chrome

Easiest solution is a $20 vinyl covering from vettefx.com

Many other appearance mods like this in my build thread below.....

I will, when my '07 Z51 Blade Silver/Red Coupe arrives in April, use a pressure sensitive (PSA) Carbon Fiber tape to cover the chrome trim price as I agree it does not complement the grille opening of the Stingray. I will also have to run a front plate (Ohio), but will be able to cut it down in height and fasten into the grille center opening with long metal screws through plates from the back with black caps in front and using foam to space out the plate to the contour of the grill. dt

I guess I'm just weird, I like the chrome front strip and chrome wheels.

As many love this feature and many do not like the chrome grill bar, wonder if this will be either a design change for the 2015's or an option for them?

It should be an option and the badges too! First mod I did was remove the chrome sperms and the corvette letters off the back. ;)

I don't see Corvette turning into a vehicle which is extremely configurable from the factory. As the number of build variations go up, the manufacturing costs have to go up as well. Corvette prides itself on being a huge bang for the buck, so this would go against that goal. Also, the aftermarket serves people very well.

Of course I would love to be able to specify every detail on mine, but I know this would not be practical at the great price point of the 'vette.

Agree 100 pct. GM is interested in as little change as possible at least until the MMC due mid cycle. The less changes, the more profit. Besides outside the forums, I don't think the chrome strip, or any other current design element as being toted as a mistake by "normal" buyers.

Sorry, MMC = Mid model change: about half way thru the product cycle they change some things , tail lights, new dash, I expect the C7 will get theirs with the 2017 or 18.....magazines also call it the refresh, facelift, makeover, etc...

Please tell us what tape product did you use? I think it looks great.. I want to make this my first mod as I drive the car off from the dealers parking lot. I think it looks hideous being chrome. I will bring it to the dealer and put it on before I drive off the lot, don't want to be seen with the chrome grill
