Compounding question

I'm about to give some love to my RCKTSHP. Getting my ducks in a row to clay (mitt), polish, seal and wax. One think I'm slightly confused... Do I need to compound before polish? Necessary or no?

Thanks for any suggestions and input ahead of time! You guys are the best. I'm going to back and more active soon too. Life has been busy.

Good chart from autogeek. I definitely would not recommend compounding due to the harshness on the paint of this step, especially since your car is a 15.

It all depends on paint condition and level of correction you want.
