in reading the recent headline article re: the detailed prices for the "new" s-ray, my mind wanders back to the 60s and 70s; the good old days, which were really not all that good--at least for me. every car was custom made, and the options read like an encyclopedia. personally, i like the more recent years, where there were several basic options--like manual vs. automatic transmissions, and the process didnt take a week to think through the hundreds of alternatives, and the concomitant prices. im sure most of you probably differ from me, but give me a corvette, make it grey (or pink), charge me 70,000 for it, and ill get on with my life (as it is). or, throw in a blower and some cool tires, and ill pay 100,000--keep it simple (aka:kiss).
