Hey all,

I am planning on ordering a 2015 Corvette within the next couple of months, but I still have a few questions. I'm sure many of these topics have been discussed elsewhere, but I did not have much luck with the search function.

1. Exterior Color- I am deciding between Shark Grey and Velocity Yellow. I've found plenty of pictures of both, now I just need to make my decision. :)

2. Interior Color- I have already pretty much decided on the Kalahari leather interior, but there's a small chance that I could also go with Adrenaline Red (and only if I went for Shark Grey) or Brownstone. I'll have to sit in each before making my final decision.

3. Seats- I love the look of the Competition Sport bucket seats but don't want to sacrifice the comfort of the GT buckets. I'll probably have to sit in the Competition seats to decide, but I'd love any input you guys have in the meantime.

4. Z51 3LT or Z06 3LZ- I wasn't initially looking at the Z06, but since the sticker of my Z51 3LT build is already at ~$80k, the extra ~$10k for the Z06 doesn't seem like that big of a deal. However, if I decided to start tacking on two options that I would prefer to have (the Z07 package and carbon fiber ground effects), the gap widens quite a bit. Do you think it is worth upgrading to the Z06 without getting those options? Also, does anybody have any input on the ride quality of the Z51 3LT with Magnetic Selective Ride Control vs. Z06 vs. Z06 with the Z07 package? By the way, I will be using the 'Vette largely as a GT car and will occasionally take it to the track (I've never tracked a car before), although it will spend pretty much all of its time on the street.

5. Other Options- I'll also be tacking on the 8A transmission, CF interior trim, Carbon Fiber Dual Top group, Z51 machine-faced aluminum wheels (the new ones for 2015), Magnetic Selective Ride Control, yellow brake calipers, the Carbon Flash badge package, Carbon Flash mirrors and spoiler, and the Carbon Flash hood stinger stripe. Is there anything that you all would suggest adding?

6. Dealer and Price- What's a good price? I'm seeing dealers offering 9% off of MSRP, but not in my area (the Washington D.C. area). What's a good price, and are there any great dealers around? From what I have seen, it looks like Criswell is a good bet.

If you guys couldn't already tell, I am new to the world of Corvettes and to the forum, so I apologize in advance if any of these topics have already been discussed elsewhere. Thanks for your suggestions! :)

Welcome to our forum T3F. We actually have an excellent search function that you should try- detail your interest in a couple of your areas and see the related posts. But perhaps before that consider spending time at Stingray Corvette Purchasing.

Sit in the seats. After I did, it was clear to me to take the most comfortable seats, which, for me, means the competition seats by a landslide. They are much closer to the natural shape of my body.

Yes, you got it: go to Criswell and ask for Mike.

Hey! Similar situation to you, only you are much closer to a great dealer there in the DC area. Mike Furman at Criswell (Gathersburg MD)is a straight up, no nonsense guy who will talk you through your decisions, and has an inventory to show you. You should NOT make a decision without actually seeing, touching, experiencing the choices that you have in front of you. We I went, they had just about every color, interior, had both GT and Comp seats to try on for size and comfort on the showroom floor. Nice folks - you won't be sorry you went there. Call and make an appt with Mike.

Jeff

P.S. SG and VY are about as different as you can get. Opposite ends of the visibility spectrum. If you want a conservative stealth look, then the SG is a great choice. VY is anything but. It screams at you, and while I was struck by it initially, I think I've decided that it is too in your face for me long term. It is not the 1966 C2 yellow... nope - neon. Very attractive, but requires, no demands you look at it.... Will not sneak around in that one... LOL Lots of great color choices IMHO. I am looking Laguna Blue at the moment, but I have a month or two before I am going to be looking to place and order. I will have to make another trip to Gathersburg to finalize everything before I actually place an order.
