..............look for an excuse to take that C7 out? I do, every day. I'm retired and fortunate enough to live in a fairly maintenance free home (once a week two hour grass cutting), my major project is complete ("club room" garage), so now I just think of things to do where it involves driving the Vette.

"Need anything at the store Sweetie?" "No?" "OK, see you later, I'm getting a coffee, luv u, bye".........

That happens more often than not. :)

Gotta go to work. Run to ACE. Caffiene and Gasoline. Visit a friend. Exotics at RTC. Sun's out. The list goes on and on.

Yeah, my excuse is work. Every day, then polish her on the weekend and go get gas. Repeat.

Yes sir, any chance I get to wheel my C7 around I jump on it!! You know the feeling, sit down, push start, wrap your fingers around the wheel, and it sends chills through your body!!!

The best I have heard, on another sports car forum, was the guy whose wife asked him to run out and get "milk and a dozen eggs" Allegedly he did--one egg each trip to the store.

I'm sitting in Rio and going to Tokyo next week while mine sits in the garage collecting dust. When I get home, Renee, my wife, is going to have a hard time keeping me from spending every waking moment from behind the wheel (except when we're behind the bedroom door )

I know that feeling just got back from Germany and the UK, headed to Boston first part of next week, got home today and guess what? Gas tank was empty!!!! Wife had it out a bit while I was away! Oh well it was a good excuse to go for a drive!

And back to the OP question, yep any excuse to go out and drive her, wife often laughs when I use it for short errands.

I WILL.

How many Corvette Clubs do you have near your home Norm?

We have SO many around here, I think I'm going to find the need to participate by myself in weekday drives while my husband is at work. (I work from home with a very flexible schedule. I figure drive when there is less traffic midday, work more during the 5p-7p hours when there are backups everywhere. He doesn't get home from his huge commute until 7p or so.) ;)

Then, of course, on the weekends we drive together (50/50 switch off more or less).

I can't see it in the 'going to the store' thing though, as all the dents in my other car are from the stupid grocery store parking lots. I think if I parked even in the back 40 they'd hit SUZZETE with a cart.

Hah, I would probably trade Vette time for spending more time abroad. One of the reasons I even got one is I have limited vacation days and therefore can't really put more disposable income towards travel. Hence the car.

I need more time to "bond" before winter! The day I ordered my C7 my wife ordered a kitchen redo. The day we flew to the museum they started the floors. The house is still not done two months later and I'm traveling and missing a nightly ride before the earlier sunsets.

I work from home, everyday, so I have to "find" reasons to take a ride, like taking the long way to get some beer :), or just driving up and down the river, I live in Wisconsin but near the border of Minnesota, so lots of nice river roads. I'm still in the break in period, so trying to get as many miles on as I can before winter. Just got past 800 miles today, 1500 then I'll get the first oil change.

Geez, that guy was doing it all wrong. He would have much better off getting a gallon of milk one ounce at a time...

I work 10-12 hours a day and everyday when I get home I feel like I need to "justify" to myself to drive my stingray, (my wife says "lets go, even if it's for only 20 minutes). I know it sounds crazy, but I think I have a little guilt for NOT driving it enough. Its like I'm wasting precious bonding time. However I do look at it every night and think WOW! I think I might even say "good night" under my breath. Am I crazy?

Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that goes out to the garage to just take a look at her.
