Does the C7 automatically go into a "sleep" mode after not being used for a while?
Due to weather conditions and other conflicts, yesterday was the first time I had driven my new C7 in about a week and a half. When I got in the car with my key fob, I noticed the DIC screen didn't light up with the Corvette logo as it usually does prior to starting the car. I was reminded of the issue of battery drain which has been discussed on this forum. However, the car started right up as normal with a strong crank and the voltage gauge also read normal after starting leading me to believe there was no battery drain issue. The screens came to life and all gauges etc. worked normal after starting. After my initial trip yesterday the DIC lit up when I entered the car for subsequent trips; same today.
This led me to speculate whether there is a sleep type mode that shuts down some functions after a certain period of non-use (week or 2) to conserve the battery charge. Does anybody know?
This week and a half is the longest period I hadn't operated the car since I picked it up in Feb although there had been a period or two of as much as five days when it wasn't used. I did not have a battery tender connected and the doors were left unlocked.
