I've had my C7 for almost one year and no prior need to purchase an outdoor car cover. It's just not cost effective since the car sleeps in a garage 98.37% of the time!! I'm traveling to L.A. for a few days where I know ( from having lived there ) that a smoggy day can leave a car covered with black sooty particles, not to mention overhead bird greetings. Has anyone used the new car shipping cover in a TEMPORARY outdoor setting? I did view the video showing how the cover offers protection on the transport truck. Many thanks for your reply.

I'll give you $5 if you can get it on and off, after they take it off...

it's for the shipping transport only, made of a cheap paper type substance, not for re use...

You can use it though it will be a lot harder to install than a normal outdoor cover. Strongly suggest that you try putting it on before going since it requires a number of steps (sometimes complicated by how the cover was folded/stored originally). It will however most definitely protect your car for the few times you use it. Remember to clean your car of any debris from your trip over before using the cover or you can scratch your finish.

Songcat, my C7 transport cover was in my Vette when it was delivered to my home from MacMulkin, NH. It was of no use, rips, tears, etc. I wouldn't even use it for an indoor cover. How long is your stay in L.A., with a good detail after your return trip your Vette should be good as new. Have a safe trip.

Hi Songcat, having grown up in the San Fernando Valley all of us that had muscle cars just made a point to wash them frequently. For a few days in L.A. this may be easier to wash rather than wrestle with a cover. Have fun in L.A. Phil

GM specifically states the cover is not to be reused, use at your own risk. IMHO you will do more damage trying to put it back on than will ever happen in a few days in LA.
