Here's a follow-up to our previous reveal of the Stingray coming to Gran Turismo 5. If you can't wait to get behind the wheel of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray, and you are a PS3 gamer, then you might be thrilled to know that you can virtually drive the new car long before it ever actually hits streets. The new car will be available as free downloadable content for Gran Turismo 5 starting at 8PM GMT today.
Obviously, racing the car on your big screen TV can't really compare to ripping up the asphalt in real life, but it does offer a few advantages over the real thing. For example, you can probably race the car in ways and in places that you won't be able to in real life. Plus, it might give you a minor fix until you can get behind the wheel of the real deal. We have a video above, and here's a quote with some more details,
Sound off in the thread if you try out the DLC and let us know what you think of it.“During the creation of the virtual Corvette Stingray, careful attention was paid to the tiniest details of the new design inside and out, as well as to the enhanced performance and driving characteristics — right down to the shift schedule for the 7-speed manual transmission,” SCEA associate product manager Ken Chan wrote on the PlayStation Blog. “The Corvette Stingray will produce an estimated 450 horsepower and 450 ft. lbs. of torque, is capable of accelerating from 0-60 in less than four seconds and will achieve more than 1g in cornering grip. It will also be the most fuel-efficient Corvette ever, exceeding the EPA-estimated 26 MPG of the current model.”
