Katech, of Corvette C5.R and C6.R ALMS racing fame, has been taking the LT1 motor and measuring preliminary results with the Hallteck C7 air induction system, then adding headers to the mix, got a total 23 HP additional. Thanks to CorvetteOnline.com for the article.

"The Halltech prototype air box added 13 horsepower and 8 lb-ft peak torque. With the headers, the LT1 engine picked up another 10 horsepower and 17 lb-ft torque. No changes to the fuel curve or ignition timing were made for these tests."

One additional interesting finding, noted Jason Harding, Katech's Director of Aftermarket Operations, was: “We got the torque I would expect [with headers] but really didn’t get the power.” Added Harding “Goes to show that the factory manifolds are like a shorty header.”

Katech's development work continues on the LT1. For complete article:

This proves the stock exhaust on the C7 is pretty darn good when you get more hp out of an airbox. In the old days a good set of headers could get you 40hp.
