Just picked up my new Z51 today and did some hard accelerations from a rolling start in sport or track mode the motor starts sputtering at high rpm, I also noticed the motor went above 4000 rpm, I was under the impression that the first 500 miles it is limited to 4k rpm during that break in period. Love the power it gets up and scoots.

I think the driver is supposed to keep the RPMs under 4000 according to the manual.

yes the driver is supposed to but I went maybe 4300 rpm when I realized it not intending to get that high, also like I said the I read here that the computer will limit it to 4k until 500 miles have been reached.... am I wrong about that?

I think the confusion is because the tack will show a reduced redline but that is not a change to the rev limiter. The rev limiter during break-in is your right foot. As for the sputtering, no idea what that might be unless you broke the tires loose, which would feel like sputtering and cause the tach to bounce.
