Does anyone know if the filler plate will restrict cooling and result in overheating or discoloration of the exhaust tips? I thought I would ask the experts here before I added one !

Probably improve it by blocking the heat from the mufflers

No.....close to a year on mine, no change

Not at all...There's really not that much heat that far back in the exhaust system..
