I think the intent of the OP was for posts related to highest speed achieved in a legal setting in a Stingray

Spring Mountain factory sponsored 3 day c7 owners school. On the 2.2 mile course I got it up to 110-115 on the back straight going into turn 8 . Its hard to say for shure. You don't look at the speedo much coming into that turn. I might have hit 117-118 once or twice. It was fun.

124 mph in a SCCA National race prepared G Production Triumph Spitfire at the end of the front strightaway at the Long island Bridgehampton Race Circuit, when it still existed.

It was the only part of any road race circuit I was ever on that I actually found to be intimidating.

140 @ Charlotte Motor Speedway in a Richard Petty Pontiac (yes, it's been a while). No speedo, but received data printout.

145 MPH in the Stingray.

I was invited to a track day by Chevrolet a few months ago to try out the Corvette Stingray. The track was a a Nascar sport car course hybrid (so half of the Nascar oval and an inner track portion). My last run I was lucky to be paired with only one other driver, since most runs were in groups of 6 Corvettes with an additional Camaro SS at the front with a professional lead driver. Normally the professional driver would slow down if the rear driver in the group was falling behind, but since there was only two of us and he realized we were keeping up relatively well, he really laid into it on the last lap and I hit 145 MPH on the oval just trying to keep him in sight. I gotta say, dealing with that bend in the Nascar oval is quite scary at that speed, so if I didn't let off I probably could have hit a higher speed. The track day convinced me to put in my order for the car, so definitely money well spent by Chevrolet.

I had my mid 1970's L-48 C3 (read s-l-o-w) running about the same speed on that track. Intimidating is an appropriate word!

It was a downhill end of a long, long straightaway, with sand on both sides, and a small kink near the end, followed by a right hand turn. I was in a race there and would dab the brakes before the kink. Another car, also a Spitfire, overtook me there as I dabbed, and at the right hand turn, went off the course, and up and over the sand dune barrier. On the next lap, I saw just the rear of his overturned car visible at the top of the dune. On the lap after that, he was standing on the dune, waving to me. What a relief.

Thank you very much Rick!

I would definitely recommend a track day with the Corvette to anyone that has the opportunity. I'm still trying to decide if I'm willing to put mine on the track when it arrives in about a month. I kind of like the idea of driving someone else's Vette on the track since I would probably be a bit too apprehensive to push my own.
