My screen rolls and then blacksout. I know there is a service bulletin on this issue for early '14 vettes.
Question=How long should it take to fix this?
Brought in the car yest and supposedly they worked on it all day and now into the second day. It's not a dealership that sells many vettes.

Hey

Mine Nav/Screen got black out last week. Dealership fixed it same day.
mine blacked out 2 times in 1 day in the 3 months that I have owned it, when it happened I smacked the side of my dash kind of like smacking a smartass and it went away, no more blackout. no dealer intervention needed ;) Bottom line you just need to show your car who the boss is lol ;)

There has been a disparity in reports on the length of time required. It depends on the experience of the tech, and sometimes the dealerships equipment. The longest I remember seeing was 3 hrs., but I think more commonly the time required is in the 1 1/2 hr. range once the car gets into the service bay. Your experience may vary, and if your unit requires replacement that is another issue all together.

I know this thread is old but can anyone tell me what the problem was and what the dealer did to fix it? I recently bought a 2014 with only 6000 miles. Driving it home from the dealer in Ohio to my residence in NY the navigation screen started this rolling then black out issue. Took it to my local Chevrolet dealer - they had the car for a week and finally decided it was the human machine interface card that was causing the problem. A new card and $1400 later the problem appeared to be fixed. 14 days later the problem is back! I have an appointment at the dealer for Tuesday but wondering what to expect and/or can I point them in the right direction? Thanks for the help.

Welcome to our forum Keithm. Sorry to read about the info screen issue. There is a combination of software updates and when that fails, replacement of the complete system to resolve. It requires the removal of dash. A number of us had it done, fortunately under warranty. If the dealer brings up your VIN, it can determine which, if any, of the TSBs were done to your C7.

If you use the search function, you can find a number of relevant posts, for example, Official C7 Corvette Issue/Resolution Thread

Thanks for the additional information. The dealer stated they did all software updates first before replacing the circuit card. They again did the software updates after replacing the card too. I will do some more searching and see what I can find. Thanks again.
