This thread now locked and moved, as we learned, on the 1.13.14 reveal, that all the following info and pictures "were for real." Almost every one of of these pictures now found in "Official Z06 Picture" thread.
****
Here, today (1.11.14) are three pictures that surfaced today. If real, they are consistent with GM's teaser pictures, consistent with the mules, and consistent with all the latest "informed" news. Even consistent with the "floor" on which the car sits; i.e., same size and appearance as the "floor" under which last year we saw several of the official GM StingRay pictures (comparison pict below).

These three pictures could be photoshopped. Or, "really close." They could be real. They could be exactly what you see in less than 48 hours. But, to be fair, not seeing any GM "watermark" on them, nor equivalent . Do I think they are AT LEAST 98% accurate, "YES," , but as we learned with the StingRay renderings a year ago, a 1% or 2% difference, as they say, makes all the difference. Thanks to Apex Chase for the pictures.

If this is what the car turns out to be, enthusiastically will be exactly one of those beauties in my garage in early 2015!

Note the flattened bottom steering wheel and the lack of a manual transmission shift gate on the above picture. Don't worry, there will still a seven speed manual trans.

Is the suspense killing you? Are you already counting the hours till the official reveal? Are you starting to sleep less, thinking about how to "become sick" Monday morning so you can see the reveal live? Congratulations, you are Z06 addicted!

Here's the comparison "floor setting pictures." Taken in the same studio/location, though acknowledge with different lighting. Does this buttress for you that these are real pictures?

I'm hoping for a couple of changes to this:
1. Actual wider front fenders (not the add on stuff, looks like an after thought to me)
2. Some air inlet vents on the sides of the main grill for dedicated brake cooling ducts like the V as well as some fog lights, which I feel the car is missing. The spy photos from before appear to me to have indentations where these might be, but you never know what actually made it into the mold.

So it's available it automatic? Those are paddle shifters with + and - and definitely not the rev match paddles. That's cool then. But the pictures look like other renderings and not the actual car. I think if they released the photos, it would be the actual car and not cartoon looking images. If I'm wrong, then it's a pretty damn good looking car!

This blows it up a little more for details. Looks like paddles to me...
Land vehicle Vehicle Car Motor vehicle Steering wheel

From Jalopnik.com:"Now, check out this interior view. Look at the instrument panel at the high end of the tachometer. You'll notice a little "P" in the display. Then, you'll notice that the shifter doesn't resemble the one the in the 7-speed equipped manual cars of the base Corvette. The paddles behind the steering wheel are also marked with just "+" and "-," whereas 7-speed equipped cars have "REV MATCH" printed on them. Is this a sign of the availability of a traditional automatic in the Z06, or is the Corvette actually going to receive some sort of automated manual transmission? There is not trim piece with the "PRND-M" plate like on automatic equipped Stingrays, and there also appears to be a shift patter on the top of the shifter to me. I'm left wondering at this point."

Me too!

I also do not see a clutch pedal in that last picture. With all your ideas/thoughts, thinking a DCT. Please just keep the seven-speed manual transmission for us happy troglodytes.

Still believing a removable top, and if so, thinking a Geneva Auto Show March 6th reveal of a convertible Z06. If all this comes to pass, the Z06 will be a supercar appealing to all preferences.

looks awesome but that color is a little puke-ish. Great retro color but on a modern car I do not like it.

GM's Z06 "motto":

"The Closest Link Between Racing And Road"
I had another response posted but thought better of it and deleted it. IMHO they have a bit of a credibility gap with the new Z06 and it lies with the motor. The C7R uses a normally aspirated motor and any track version of the C7 Z06 would probably also need to be equipped with a normally aspirated engine unless it was competing in a C7 only class. For example, although Porsche makes a turbocharged GT2 the NA GT3 is their race car platform. That's why I was thinking the Z06 would be NA and forced induction would be reserved to a future ZR-1.
