So finally after 2 or so long months she finally arrived. We purchased at Kerbeck in Atlantic City and live Northwest of Philadelphia, so last Thursday we took the train to AC to pick up our new addition to the household.

Had a bit of a rough start as the salesman forgot about picking us up at the train station, but not a big deal. Got to the dealership and got to see our car. A beauty she is!

So we did the paperwork and then I really went over the car, I spotted on the front bumper several dark blue paint drips, not overly noticeable but noticeable none the less. I point this out to the sales rep, who agreed that was wrong. He took it over to the body shop where they tried to rub it out, which did not work. They agreed that this was a warranty claim and I had two choices, have the bumper repainted or they could give me $500 in GM courtesy cash, for use at a future date at any GM dealership.

My wife and I discussed it and decided not to have the bumper repainted. In my opinion it would have never fully matched correctly. At first they said we would get a coupon in the mail, I asked for documentation of the issue, the salesman left and came back with the filled out we owe you document.

Previously the finance manger had tried to sell us on the wheel and tire coverage, Kerbeck wanted $1,100 for the 5 year program, since I had seen on the forum that others had been offered $600 I told them they were too high in price, he however would not move off the $1,100.

So when the salesman brought me back the we owe you form, I stated before I sign it, I would trade their $500 for the whell and tire warranty program. He checked with his boss and they agreed. So a poor quality spotting of paint on the bumper turned into wheel and tire coverage.

Still disappointed and would have preferred a perfect paint job, but at least I got something out of it.

This makes me wonder if the issues by the union on QC at BG are related to paint quality?

Anyway, now that issue is behind us, WOW what a great car!!

We had a great drive back to PA and are looking forward to many happy miles in the future.

She's a real beauty Tom, of course I'm a little partial to the Laguna blue. :) Can you PM me a pic of where the runs were located, so I know where to scrutinize mine more closely when she comes in next month? It may be a common area to produce a run. Do you know if the run is in the base coat or in the clear? If it's in the clear it can be carefully sanded out. I really like painting Base/Clear, but clear coat has a fine line between a sag or run and orange peel. That fine line is perfection. :)

Beautiful LB! I'm sorry you had a paint issue, but glad they compensated you in some way for it. May you always drive her in good health!

Tom congrats on receiving your masterpiece, the interior color looks great with the Laguna Blue. I had all kinds of factory paint finish problems with our C7 small in detail compared to your situation. I didn't even notice most of them on my inspection until Jon at Absolute Perfection pointed them out with a bright light. Take it to a professional car detailer for their opinion. At least the dealership worked with you on this matter. Now get out there and wheel that C7 around PA and have a blast!!

Congrats Tom! It might be helpful to all if you posted up a picture of the paint drips. Have you found any other paint related issues since picking your car up?

The drips are on the front left bumper just below the head light.

So far that is the only issue that I have seen concerning the paint.

Don't you mean 2 short months, As I am on my 7th long month with 4-6months to go because GM doesn't like playing fare to Canadians
