If you installer did not advise you, do not raise or lower your windows for one week. The best reminder is to put a piece of blue painters' masking tape over the switches.

Thanks, Rusty. Can you provide the details? For example, what brand of film? Did you look at other brands or is this what the installer recommended? What level of tint?

Should not be an issue, most tint installers use some extra heat and care at the lower window edge on the tint film on doors to specifically ensure that it is not affected by window indexing.

Mine were done the same and I had 30% driver and passenger and 50% back three. Looks good. Can't go too dark here as the police get real antzy about it and can order you to remove if they so wish to. Aganist the local MV Regs to use film or any attachments to windows. I cheated just a little.

The way it was explained to me is that the "wiper" that is in the door is the one that can pull on the tint, the channel at the top that it pops into when window indexing is rather wide and does not pull. BMW has had window indexing for many years and the only time that they are ever worried about it is when the window is fully down, within 48 hours of tinting.
