Picking my new C7 tomoorrow and I don't have a bra or any protection for the front end yet, and I'm leaving dealership to go on 200 mile trip on highways. I've used painters tape in the past on my previous cars but never on anything brand new. This car is black too. So anyone ever used Saran Wrap or any other product for temporary protection ? Don't want to use Plastic dip or spray can either.

For a 200 mile trip I won't worry too much. Keep your distance, especially from trucks. If by chance you end up with a chip or nick consider Dr. ColorChip- an easy and very effective fix. I drove RedHot back from BG to Vegas, 1880 miles mostly on freeways and only picked up once chip to the bumper. Saran Wrap isn't going to be the answer.

I would buy a Novistretch front bumper mask whenever you can from one of our supporting vendors... it's a great choice for road trips.

Novistretch didn't have any for a C7 that I saw ??? Definitely will get one for long-term purchase for future when they're available. I was thinking of just a coat of wax on the front end for the drive ?

Does anybody know if this will work on a Stage 1 Z06?
I'm sure novistretch (or anyone) has not had a z06 to test it on....aftermarket is using good to go 3-6 months after release of a car...when they get their hands on one..

Novistretch looks like it would do a great job on bugs, on rocks I'm not so sure. I mean its kind of like a nylon, so I would think a rock of any substance at all, especially if it has rough edges will probably still chip the paint. The clear bra's are probably the best chip protection. My factory bra worked great when we went to the mountains of Tennessee last spring. I only used it the one time but it worked great. That will be the only time I'll use it is for longer trips.

it works better than you think, I've done 500 in mine, about to do 300 this week, steven bell has done thousands and rocks hit, but no mark...try it before you pronounce judgement - the mesh deflects very well....

But what about those that have had xPel installed on their cars.... Is this used in conjunction with that for additional protection? Or are these products used in place of xPel? I'm easily confused, so sorry for the question if it seems silly.

The two are very compatible, the novistrech protects the radiator and xpel, which can get gashed. And then the xpel is on places where the novistrech is not. You can use them together, or separately, you just have to decide what level of paranoia of rocks you have....

Also they have different applications, you are using the Xpel every day, day in and day out, where is the nova stretch is really just used for long trips ....I wouldn't want to run around town, because there's no need, and it's not very pretty when I have it on ....but I could care less what anybody thinks at a racetrack gas station in Alabama when I'm doing a long distance run.

Here's how I see the whole front end protection deal...

In theory - if you are going to keep the Novistretch ($159) bumper mask on the car 24/7 you won't need to drop $1000-1500 on XPEL but pretty much no one wants to drive their car around town with a bumper mask hiding their C7's adorable little face 24/7 so hence the reason why XPEL is a great product - it's like an invisible shield.

Now... personally I love the idea of putting on the Novistretch OVER the XPEL for road trips because who cares what your car looks like when it's on the highway.

Personally I love the combo of XPEL for the front end and CQuartz for the rest of the car. I'm having mine done next weekend. Can't wait.

Thanks Glen and Joshua. I was planning on the XPEL and wasn't sure. Glen, as far my paranoia goes.... Well, it's pretty evident because insofar as constantly experiencing a thing about rocks flying up and cracking my windshield. I built a top of the line replica 427 Cobra that won a major auto show on the west coast, so I spared no cost on the paint, but over the years, after driving it, which I consider to be what cars are meant to be used for, has developed a few scars (nicks) on the front. Early this next year I'll be taking delivery on a new Z06, which I certainly want to take every possible precaution to protect. I've never been a big fan of bras because I've always thought they were butt ugly, but this Novistrech sure seems like a great answer and alternative. Now, if I can just find something to protect the windshield.... LOL

Sorry if my comment seemed like I was judging it, it was just an uneducated observation, based on photos and close-ups. Heck, if I didn't already have the factory bra, I would probably buy one for the next trip I take. It looks much easier to install than the bra. I also like the idea of keeping the crap out of the radiator. For the purpose it looks like it would work well. For actual paint chip protection I still think the Expel probably excels, but then it is about 10 times the cost too! I don't have either, so again I'm not trying to knock or promote either, just making an obeservation based on others comments and photos. I think I'll just be quiet now, because I think I'm digging my hole deeper. :)
