Does anyone know how we Canadians can purchase a 2014 Stingray???? Starting last December, contacted every chevy dealer in Ottawa & Toronto to enquire about ordering one. All but one dealer said they were given no allotments, or the allotments they had were already filled. I made an order with the one dealer who said they had an unfilled allotment for a coupe. 2 1/2 months later (this week) I'm told that my order cannot be filled, however they would take my order (1st on the list) for a 2015 (delivery "expected" sometime in the Fall/Winter - great timing :(. I've contacted numerous US dealers & been advised that they cannot sell to non US residents/citizens (due to sanctions imposed by corporate, or its "against the law"). If anyboby cares, help would be appreciated :)

Hopefully GM will allocate more StingRays to Canada in 2015. Never been proven, but it is widely accepted that GM only allocated 300, 2014 StingRay to Canada.

It is illegal for a U.S. Dealer to sell a new Corvette out of country, whether it is Canada, Japan, China, etc. Several of the largest U.S. Corvette dealers post that on their web sites.

Calgary is taking all the vettes they can get from other Canadian dealers.
Try Forbes in Waterloo. They had one allotment last week. Scherer in Kitchener had a cyber grey coupe last week also.

What specs are you looking for? I've seen quite a few for sale in Quebec and Toronto at non-GM dealers. Obviously these come at a premium but maybe your'e willing to spend a little extra to get one. You've got to be prepared to pull the trigger quickly as they seem to sell quickly. LA Leasing in Montreal has 4 in stock right now, including this sweet Z51 for $77k.

Hello,
Gary I ordered from a local dealer where I live in Early Feb, They tell me that I will not know until May when it will be built. Can you tell me which division of GM contacted ( CONFIRMATION ) you?. Was it GM Canada or Bowling Green assembly.

Cheers.

All communication comes through GM corporate and for Canada the dealers get their info from GM Canada, never from any assembly plant.

I'd just keep pushing your dealer for information, good dealers will get info at all levels including the plant (as my dealer did). I was even communicating with different levels and was actually notified by the museum of my TPW with VIN about a week before my dealer knew. I did't purchase a buyer's tour but took the chance of contacting them and eventually ended up with the info I wanted.

I just call the number at the top of the GM.ca site. With your order number, they can tell you about your status.

Good Morning Jim,

It was biweekly calls to GM Canada. From mid-December to Thursday of this week
All I would get from GM was the car was accepted for production with no build date.
So just keep pushing at your dealer.
He will be just as happy as me when the car gets here not to see my face Saturday mornings

(FYI he won't see me today)

I think it the luck if the draw. I ordered mine 02/15 with little chance of getting a 2014. I was called 2 weeks ago that the guy ahead of me have up his spot because he wanted a 2015 Z06. Just like that an allotment was put towards my order and I'm expecting in June!

Just a footnote to this conversation, the buyers tour and pickup isn't available to Cdn's. Apparently bringing the car back across the border is a problem for the customer and GM so they won't offer it to Cdns. I asked.

well...I won't argue the point further but I will say that Lori Bieschke at the museum, who I worked with was willing to book my tour. Just because you take the tour doesn't mean you have to drive the car home.

Did they charge you $800 for the tour? I know other Cdns who have taken tours for the regular admission price at the museum/assembly plant but not the "Buyers Tour".

National Corvette Museum - Buyers Tour

I see the buyers tour and vehicle delivery is packaged together (R8c option) and priced at $990. That is what I was referring to as not being available to Cdns.

Sorry for the confusion.

I feel your frustration. I was short one allocation here in Saskatoon and got on the phone. I got the last allocation in Edmonton mid January, went to 2000 status a month ago, I'm now 3000 with a TPW of 5 May. Good luck, they are worth waiting for.

Just heard from my dealer -- Murray GM in Abbotsford, BC -- that they found out today that they are getting another piece of allotment for 2014s. How many I don't know but there are Canadian dealers getting more cars.

My 3LT Z-51 triple black with red calipers and all the bells and whistles went to 3300 today with a TPW of April 21. It's been a long seven months!!
