I'll be there "Industry Preview" days. Will post pictures and other info here that I learn from conversations with Corvette team engineers. As Mary Barra becomes officially the new CEO on Wednesday the 15th, and she drives a StingRay, hope she is there on that day, available for conversation. Here's the schedule.

The schedule for the NAIAS is:

Press Preview: Monday, Jan. 13th & Tuesday, Jan. 14th
Industry Preview: We'd., Jan. 15th & Thursday, Jan. 16th
Charity Preview: Friday, Jan. 17th
Public Admittance: Sat. 18 - Sunday, 26th

Anyone else going?

I think so. As the Reveal is 10:00 AM, Monday, Jan. 13th with all the official GM media info/picture releases that day (assuming nothing is leaked before then by one of the print media who is under embargo until that time), I am assuming that they will allow picture taking a couple of days later.

Have just gotten my GM "media credentials," so will be able to share here on January 13th -- and GM's pictures will be better than mine anyway. Worst case, I won't bombard our forum with my not-so-professional pictures during Industry Preview days.

This weekend, Detroit is expecting 8" of snow, and by Tuesday, the high temperature is supposed to be 1 degree. My posts from NAIAS will start out by saying: It's ___ degrees, wind chill ____ degrees below zero, snowing, etc., for only an addicted Corvette crazy would choose to go to Detroit in winter. Having lived there for two years, with the wind howling off the Detroit River, visiting there in January (or worse living there) can be a challenge. Remember going in January, 2005 for C6 Z06 reveal, when it had just snowed eight inches, was 9 degrees above, 25 MPH winds gusting to 40 MPH, wind chill of approx -20, etc. That visit reminded me why we moved to Oregon.

Any one else on this forum choosing to visit there in the next two weeks?

I lived in one of the other Great Lakes states for about 4 years. I remember this one time when the temperature was -20 F one night, and the windchill was -49 F. That was the coldest I ever was. I stepped out into the night all bundled up in at least three layers everywhere including a mask under my two hoods. Well, my face had only that one layer, and just gloves on my hands, but you get the idea. I started shivering immediately. I said to myself, "Rodney, you gotta hurry up and graduate so you can move back to the South or out west and thaw out your bones." CA has been very nice since graduation. :)

I really wish I could join you but will not be able to this year. I did spend 18 years there before moving to Vegas. Now I enjoy looking at the snow on Mt. Charleston and 300+ days of sun. Had the roof off RedHot this morning for my drive to Cars and Coffee.

SOOOO many signs that you will need a C7 Z06 in your life.

Ben, PM sent to you, with contact info so we hook up at the Z06 exhibit on Wednesday the 15th. However, as the C7 Z06 will be yellow and that's my color, GM's said I could take it home with me. Don't worry, you get the C7.R, as long as you return it to them in time for the Rolex 24 a week/10 days later.

Will have left Detroit by the 17th.

I'll be up there Industry day 1/15th as well. Funny, the C7 was unveiled on my birthday last year, and now the C7Z06 will be unveiled on my birthday the 13th again this year... just SOOOOO many signs! :)
We three share a common birthday: January 13. Happy birthday to us and the C7 Z06.
