Hey, jroes57.
I can absolutely relate to this.
A previous car I owned (2012 Audi S5) on a multi-lane exit ramp a little a-hole in a tuner 350Z lost control in front of me and his rear end slid into my front end.
I had to chase him down for two miles before he would stop.
When I finally got the cops there they said that he was claiming that I rear ended him and would not do anything about him fleeing the scene of the accident.
I ended up having my insurance company complete the claim as a "No Fault" accident because the police would not charge him with fleeing the scene.
Total damage to my car where in access of $8K and the car only had 1700 miles on it at the time.
Hope everything works out for you.
Very sorry it happened.

Hey, that otta buff right out!!! Seriously though, that really sucks for your new Vette. Most body shops do really good work today, so hopefully they can get you back and looking better than new. Get a complete repaint/reclear and have one of very few C7 Vettes without orange peel. Gotta find that silver lining somewhere.

A lot will depend on how much, if any frame damage was done. I'm pretty sure you can't straighten these aluminum frames so it's quite possible this may end up a total loss. Very sad.....
