I can't believe this: I hate taking my vettes to the dealer here because they are soooooo incompetent. But I wanted to try them out changing the oil and checking the rear end on my base vert. Went to Portland for a week and when I got back there are 3 big puddles under my car at the rear. Apparently, they didn't tighten it down or spilled oil all over the area when they filled it. Question is: does someone have a picture of the rearend where they put the oil in so I can crawl under there and see if the bolt is in there, or loose, or they just spilled oil all over. Anybody got pix on how and where to check the fluid level on it? Thanks!!!

I've got a photo or two. Just have to find them and resize so I can post. Give me a few minutes.
The way they show up in the post is as follows:
First image shows the drain plug to remove the rear diff fluid.
The next photo shows a general view of the rear diff. My car has the automatic tranny.
The last photos shows a close-up view of the filler plug. Note the blue "witness" mark. Plug is dry, no leaks. Same on the drain plug. Getting at the filler plug on an automatic is tight. It may be easier on a 7-speed manual.
The parking brake cable and rear sway bar hinder access to the filler plug on the automatics. Not sure what it's like with the 7-speed.
Hope this helps.

Hey dp,

Sorry that the oil change did not go well at the dealership. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. Shoot me a PM with your info, VIN, mileage and the name of your dealership.

I hope you at least had a good time in Portland!

UPDATE: They just spilled oil all over when they filled my rearend. It was caught up in the black plastic scoop back there. No leaks after I wiped it off and drove it 500 miles or so. Slobs!!!
