I decided to purchase a 2014 Stingray (Z51 3LT) early April of this year. My local dealer was very honest with me and told me he probably wouldn't be able to get another Z51 so he didn't take an order.

I ordered from another larger dealer in my area who got roughly 75 allocations this year and pushes a Z51 through about every couple weeks. I'm at 1100 for the 5th straight week, and my local dealer unexpectedly called me today letting me know that they have a Z51 allocation ready to use today... I told them no because I already have another order in and don't want to back out, and I'm supposed to be next in line for the Z51 on that list - but I'm hoping I won't regret turning down this immediate allocation (This is a long wait!) Reading everyone's experiences on this forum has been very helpful in dealing with the wait!!

Any words of encouragement would be appreciated! The joys of ordering :)

Gee, I sure hope the second dealer isn't spoofin you and just keeping you hanging around. It sounds like the smaller dealer might have been a good jump. But you have made a decision and are willing to stand by it so go for it and good luck. I waited 9 months for my Z51 to be moved from 1100 and now at 3400 with a TPW of 5/26.

Good luck:

1100 just means you put ur name at the top of the page (like putting ur name on a test in school). If they have an allocation available that would mean you would probably jump to 2000 which means in the Chevrolet system. I would go with the smaller friendly honest dealer. Always a better choice. Plus just them being honest I would want them to have the business. Most of them say oh ya we can get you one. Take ur deposit and put you on hold becuz they know you don't understand the system

I tend to agree, M. I like the type of dealer which is friendly, honest and local.

Thanks for the encouragement and kind posts!! I have been debating about the 2015 as I am getting an automatic, and the 8 speed would be nice. However, I'm putting a lot of options on the car and I'm worried that the same car (more or less) will cost me several thousand more in 2015.

If I didn't have such a good idea of where I was at on the other dealer's list, I would have cancelled my order and gone with the local dealer, however I have been raised such that I have integrity and my word means something.. so unfortunately I'm waiting this out. I spoke with the other dealer this past week and they still have a few unused allocations and are 100% sure they can push the order through. Worst case scenario I guess is I end up with a 2015 from another dealer, but I think this is highly unlikely. At least I hope anyway!

It's just such a long wait and I was hoping to get a call from the OTHER dealer!

Thanks guys!!
