I posted this question last night and had no responses, and it happened again tonight when I was getting my daily dose of adrenalin. Someone has to know something about these lights that appear above the dash display when you have your foot in it. They are amber and they start on the far left and right, then as you accelerate, the one light becomes two on each side, then to three on each side, I haven't had the nerve to see if they meet in the middle. HELP, I can't find anything about this someone has got to know the answer!!!!

I am waiting to order my 2015, but I think you're referring to the SHIFT LIGHTS. As the lights close to the center, its encouraging you to shift to the next gear. Found this in the manual for 2014. I believe the horizontal lights at the top of the display are what you're talking about. BUT, I don't have a Stingray, so I could be wrong.

They will continue to get closer and closer to each other as you increase speed/RPMs. If they ever meet in the middle, don't wait any longer: SHIFT immediately! Actually, I personally would shift before I ran it the whole way to the max (yes, I am a chicken - fine).

By the way, the last lights to illuminate (the ones in the middle) are red instead of amber, right?

This was the first thread:
In my Z51 with auto transmission, when I'm accelerating hard I get round lights coming on above my instrument cluster. It will also show up in my HUD. Seems to happen only when I'm at high RPMs. I'm assuming it's related to a red line situation, a warning maybe, but I can't find anything in my owners manual concerning it, has anyone got the answer?
It's an automatic. So, is there a mode where the paddle shifters must be used and it will not up shift on its own?

On the track in the HUD (track mode hockey stick) they go from green to orange to blue.(I think) Even had rev limiter cutout (once) going from 2nd to 3rd on a back short straight after all blue. 7 sp MT, track sport 1

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen! The lights do change color however when you are driving this car in the manner it takes to see these lights coming on and getting closer, it becomes more and more difficult to keep your eye on the lights because you're screaming by then...if they put a dual clutch in this car I might just be talked into getting the new model. I've looked in the manual several times to see what they had on this light issue but I'm either blind or there really isn't anything explaining this feature... Thanks again guys...Kim

That is why the HUD in track mode is helpful because you can view this instead of the speedometer in the car keeping you eyes up the road instead.

Interesting comment. Maybe you should get the 2015 eight speed automatic it shifts faster than a Porsche dual clutch! For us old timers (who actually watch the tach more that the shift lights) pulling on the shift lever just before the rev limiter comes in is part of what we consider fun! Just installed a cue ball size knob, even better!
