The original OEM (3 Yr Wtty) battery in my 2016 Z06 expired exactly 4 years from date I took delivery. Car is always kept on the factory Ctek charger when up on the lift for the winter or for any period expected to be longer than about 2 weeks. The dealer parts guy said they no longer sold the 3 yr battery so I got a Delco replacement that had a 4 year warranty. It is still in place operating fine after five years. The longest I got out of a battery was eight years on a Die Hard installed in my '93 ZR-1, also always on a charger in the winter. --Bob

We have gotten an average of 8 years on our C7 Vettes by keeping our AGM batteries on a Battery Tender when not being driven. I have the same result with my GMC Sierra, now going on 7 years. Both AC Delco and Sears Die Hard Gold AGM's have given great/similar results.

Purchased my 2019 C7 Grand sport in May, 2018. Replaced the battery April 2025. 20,400 miles.

 

I replaced the original battery in my 2016 Stingray a couple years ago. I keep it on a battery tender if it sits for more than a couple days. Therefore, it lasted about seven years. I'm pleased with that.

 

My 2016 delivered December 2015 still has the originsl battery which tests “good.” Car has about 19k, battery tender is always connected unless I’m driving several times a week.

 

My current Corvette is a 2022 C8 and my new model which was delivered to me in November 2021. So it has been 3 years and 9 months.
I do not drive it too much so I maintain the factory batter with my trusted CTEK which does keep my battery in best condition.
FYI my factory battery is a none AGM model as I understand all standard C8s are equipped with this type of a battery. It is more than likely that higher Corvette models do come with AGM batteries.
Maybe a more informed member here can confirm these info.

 

My 2016 Z06 was delivered in May/June of 2015. It still has the original battery that is always on Ctek when garaged. It is going back to dealer next week as a trade on 2026 Z51, hopefully. The Z51 was built last week, 8/6, but has been on a QC hold with the 1st 25-50 units built.

 

UPDATE: Z06 was traded to dealer last Sat, 8/23/2025, 10yrs 3 months. Always on Ctek charger if not driven for more than 3 days

 

My 2014 Premiere Edition Convertible had the original battery until May 2025. It was in storage with a battery tender attached for over 4 years. Never had one last that long.

My battery to my 2015 C7 ZO6 was always on a trickle charger (for corvettes) lasted 10 years. It may be due to the fact that we don't have severe winers in Mississippi. It never failed and I was in the process of trading it in when I changed it.
The car was always garaged and had 11,000 miles on it

 

Same here Ronnie. I purchased a C7 Z51 LT3 Convertible in May of 2015. Traded it in December 2024 for a C8 3LT Convertible 70 year Anniversary Edition. Replaced the battery shortly before the trade in. I used a Black & Decker whenever I did not have plans to take the Stingray for a spin for a week or more.

 

My 2019 Z06 was delivered in early 2018. Always on the factory charger during winter hibernation- but never when idol in the summer.
Never had any problems, but decided to be proactive and replaced it with the same model battery in May of this year.
I figured 7 years was fine and I didn’t want to have a failure when I was planning something fun -which is typically when that stuff happens😂
