I know that this shifter is directly coupled to the drivetrain which makes it different from the various other manual transmission cars I've owned over the years, but... I feel a lot of vibration both in neutral and in gear while driving, I find after a minute with the hand on the stick it gets numb from all the vibrating. Does your shifter do the same?

I think what we have here is a perception issue. I've been in a number of manual C7's and all of the shifters move when the car it idling and transmit some motion from the torque tube, I know mine does and it feels perfectly normal. I've had no reason to question whether it's normal because it just feels right, communicating just the right amount of mechanical feeling to allow me to feel connected to the machine.

I keep my right hand on the shifter 100% of the time?I don't feel any kind of vibration.About many dealerships. They go thru Supposely
Thru some lame seminar. But I believe it's A joke.Something isn't right with your car.I'd start looking at transmission mounts.

Thanks thrilled. Before I go in and talk to service it helps to know that this isn't 'normal' because it a big 6.2L engine. Talking to others like yourself gives me the facts. If you could do one thing more I'd really appreciate it. Open your hood and look at your engine when it's idling. Is yours balanced and steady, or is it like mine: visible shaking? I think that the engine shaking is being transmitted thru the driveline which is why I have so much stick vibration.

My stick feels normal to me - normal being with some vibration but not significant. I have only 800 miles on the car, but it does feel fine. I upgraded from an '07 Miata MX-5 GT with some mods including a lightweight flywheel. The stick on that had a lot more movement, especially at low rpms.

When I'm in Eco mode, I can feel a change in the drivetrain through the stick going from V8 to V4. It feels more rough - kind of hard to describe - maybe like going from a new paved smooth road to an older weathered road.

I've been driving cars and manual transmissions for over 40 years and my shifter feels perfectly normal to me. It does have a very slight vibration, and I consider that perfectly normal.

Thanks Gregg, a very slight vibration makes sense since you're connected to the driveline. My hand is shaking pretty badly and I can't get the stick to hold still even when I apply a lot of effort. I'm starting to feel the vibration through the clutch pedal now as it gets worse with the stick.

Take it in, Doc.

I drive without the radio on because I prefer to listen to the C7 (e.g., engine sound, exhaust sound). So, I really note anomalies in the car. Usually my hand is only on the shifter momentarily to make the shift. Based on your concern, I drove the car with my hand on the shifter 100% time. There is a small continuous vibration but not great enough to throw any alarm bells for me. I’m also using a short throw shifter which has a more direct coupling to the transmission. The OEM shifter has a plastic insert which should dampen the vibrations even more.

Yes, then based on that you definitely need to get it looked at by the dealer.
