Hi all!

I am sorry for such a basic question, but I have never ordered a car with GM before; I spec'd out the Z06 I will be ordering and left a deposit with a dealer who told me that they will get it submitted as soon as they can "on the next order cycle".

So I think that means that every "cycle" they will get to use x number of their allocations, and submit an order as long as nothing on that order is on "constraint".

How often do the "order cycles" take place? Is it a scheduled thing or is it just on demand when the factory is ready to accept more orders?

Many thanks in advance!

So many ?
Small dealer?
How many allocations do they get for 2015?
Order Cycle is this coming Thursday but that dealer is not guaranteed to get a call.
Are you fist on the list?
Some dealers will take your money and you can wait a long time when or if they will ever get an allocation.
Very large dealer, they have allocations, close to the top, and nothing I wanted was on constraint last time.

I was just wondering how often the order cycles take place.

PS. The deposit is 100% refundable until "code 2000".

Goober, how many total Z06 allocations did your dealer get for model year 2015?

When you said, "close to the top" did you mean that they are close to the top of the top dealer sales list, or you are close to the top of your dealer's internal priority list?

Usually an order cycle starts every Thursday, but some weeks get skipped for one reason or another. The Z06 has been skipped for the last few weeks, as they took in a lot of orders during the first consensus cycle that z06 was available.

Let us know the answers to the above questions, and we will help you as best as we can.

Over 100, forgot the exact number, they are a top 10 Corvette dealer in the county.

Close to the top of the internal list; most of those in front of me are A8 orders and/or Z07, so if those remain on constraint I should get picked up pretty quick.

Thanks for the info on the order cycles! That is exactly what I was looking for. Is there a good source to view what they allow each Thursday and the constraints for each cycle?

Z06 ordering window/consensus is believed, but still not 100% confirmed, to be open this Thursday, then opens once again on either on October 23rd OR October 30th.

The original GM internal memo to its dealers said that the A8 and convertibles would be totally constrained "1-2 months," with that schedule meaning, if adhered to, that the latest that A8's and convertibles were open for ordering would be November 13th. We have no official word since that September 18th internal memo, but that doesn't preclude that the A8/convertible window might not be open as soon as two days from now (though that is highly unexpected), i.e., based on a new front intercooler and rumors of inside-the-rockers additional heat exchangers, doubting that before November.

Of course, ordering a manual trans convertible could open up at any time, and is not tied to when the A8 window opens.
