I joined the forum the other day and jumped right in asking questions, how rude is that!? Well here is my official introduction, and I thank those that have already welcomed me and answered some of my questions. I'm 55 years old and finally at a time in my life that I can afford my first Corvette. My kid is raised and I have a beautiful grand daughter. I have always loved the looks of Corvettes but never really pursued owning one as I felt it was extravagant, and not something that fit into my family lifestyle and finances. Well now I am doing pretty well, survived prostate cancer, an RP procedure and ultimately a new "bionic" member (my wife calls it the Mechanical Bull!) I have a new perspective on life, and I have decided that next year when the 2015 comes out I am taking the plunge and ordering me the ultimate American Super Car! The wife is on board with it and is actually excited as well with my decision. I have a lease that is up on my current daily driver ( a Volt) in January 2015, so that is when I want to take delivery.
I'm hoping the newness and wait times will be over and maybe I can order in say November of next year and get it just before my lease ends.
In the mean time I need to learn everything I can about the C7 and Corvettes in general, so I can talk intelligently to other Corvette lovers. I really appreciate everything you guys have taught me so far, as well as the graciousness shown. This appears to be a first class forum with knowledgeable and friendly members. I've belonged to various forums over the years, and most tend to drive newbies away with their rude comments and attitude towards them. I have seen none of that here, and am excited to be a new member. I will use the search function as much as possible, but will probably still ask silly questions. Thanks for providing a GREAT forum!
Gregg

Hi Gregg,

I too joined this forum recently. Great bunch of people and lots of knowledge. I had a cancer scare earlier in the year, everything is good now. My order will go in as soon as my dealer gets their second round of allocations in a few weeks. Hope to have the car in the garage by April or May 2014, no rush here as old man winter is knocking on the door here in Michigan.
I see you're in Greenville. I have family in the Four Oaks / Smithfield area.

Take Care !!!

Congratulations on your great news and outcome! Sorry about the scare, that is very crappy news to have to deal with. Yeah I make it down to the Outlet mall in Smithfield a couple of times a year. Fantastic news about the car, what color and options are you planning for it?

Welcome, Greggshere! This is a very friendly and positive forum...you will love it. You are extremely patient to wait until next November to get your car. This is my first 'Vette---it is fabulous and I love being part of the "club".

Believe me, my patience is waning! I made a prior commitment to buy my son-in-law a Classic car at the big show in Charlotte (Charlotte Auto fair) in April. I did that well before I made the decision to get myself the Corvette, so I just have to wait. It's fine anyway, because I'm hoping the "Feeding Frenzie" will be over by then, and getting one built won't have the long wait.

Want to keep the price around $60k. I can keep it a few years then sell it when the Z0? comes out if I want to "upgrade".
