Every 2014 Corvette, even if it literally does not have a single option, is a StingRay. And, consequently, all have the Stingray emblem on their front fenders.

SS24, all 2014 Corvettes are called Stingrays regardless of how they are optioned. There was originally a statement that they may not continue the Stingray name for all C7 Corvettes produced after the first year. There has been no media coverage or press releases repeating that since the 2014 Stingray has gone into production. We may know more after the Detroit Auto Show.

Actually, I don't think you will see the term "C7" anywhere in official GM Literature. They call it the "seventh generation" or just Corvette Stingray. The Cx terminology is an enthusiast shorthand for the various generations. That's one of the reasons you often get a "deer in the headlights" stare from Chevy sales people when you ask about a "C7."

Fdxpilot, while you are technically correct I have yet to run into anyone connected with selling 2014 Corvettes who do not know what you mean when you say "C7". The term is also used at the NCMuseum, the GM Authority web site and throughout most popular automotive media.

Try walking into the average Chevy dealer and asking about a C7. Unless it's a big volume vette shop, they probably won't know. The one guy who usually handles Corvettes might.
