Hey guys, looking for some expert help here. My 1970 Corvette was sold to me as being an LT1, I know it doesn't have the original coveted LT1 motor but it does have other features that show it as being an LT1, the hood, Consul data tag, high redline RPM Tach. Is there a way I can tell from the VIN number? Mine has power steering and I know later year 70 LT1s had this option.

Thanks for the info but with an after market Crate motor installed, the engine codes don't help. I think I can tell from the rear diff S#. and if the tank sticker is still there but not concerned enough to drop my gas tank.
