I know I'm splitting hairs here, but if one goes by Chevy's website, it seems as if the Z06 has it's own label, not a "Stingray" in the strictest sense of the word. It is certainly built off of the "ray's" foundation but it is always referred to as the "Z06", not a "Stingray Z06." And there is no Stingray emblem on it.

Forgive me. I know this is rather minor, but I have had to find some way to occupy myself while my order waits to enter production; yes, I am STILL at 3000...sigh

The Stingray designation is not applied to the Z06 as per GM when they announced the Z06 last January. There are now 2 models, Stingray and Z06 (ignoring the variants like Z51, Z07).

The "base" as you put it is the C7 platform from which we get the Stingray and the Z06.

Stingray emblem was the first thing I removed from my C7. Looked like a refrigerator magnet.. Waiting for my new Z06
