I was driving home form the dealership and then all of a sudden the dashboard got really dark for a few minutes and then light back up and then remained dark until I turned the car off. Now i notice this happening sometimes while driving at 5 in the afternoon is there a new update that started to dim out the dashboard during the day?

There is a "re-flash" available, but your issue may be deeper than that. Check with your dealer.
