We are going to a family reunion in Alabama this weekend, my family is flying down early and I'm driving my C7 on Friday. I will be returning on Monday and was looking to have some fun on the trip home, instead of just taking 20 over to Atlanta then 85 N to home. I was thinking about making a trip up to the Dragon's Tail and doing a part of the loop, down 129 to 143 to 28/74 to I-40 in NC. I will be making this trip alone and was wondering if it was a good idea. The only time I have been even close to that area was in December when I picked up my Corvette from the Museum and drove it back through Nashville to Richmond. I will be making a 10 hour trip into a 12 hour trip, but this will be the only time I get to do a part of the loop since my soon-to-be wife gets car sick and can't handle curves and elevation changes simultaneously. Any suggestions on what I should prepare for during that part of the trip? The Loop will come up at about the halfway point of my trip.

My ride has 12,700 miles and a fresh oil change. The tires I have on there now are the summer tires with 8K miles on them now.

Thanks for your help!!
