I know this is a subjective decision, but I'm just checking people's insights...

I - likely probably many of you - am trying to decide between all-leather seats vs with the suede inserts. They both have appeal.
(FYI, going for black exterior, kalahari interior, convertible, if that might make a difference. LZ3. Competition seats)

Having never seen suede inserts live, I don't know how good it will really look. Will the tan colors (leather/suede) match or complement? Do I need the suede to hold more grip (likely not)? Will the suede wear more?
I've only had leather seats in all my cars (all-leather) after my 20's (in my teens and 20's I had cloth seats- now not a fan of cloth. So it may be nice to try something different.

Anyone with experience owning/seeing a C7 with the suede inserts? (Or any other cars w/ such a seat material combo?) How does it look / feel / wear-out-over-time?

Thanks in advance to all...

I have the microfiber inserts in my C7 Z51 2LT with black GT seats and love them. I have had a number of other cars with such inserts and wear or maintenance has never been an issue.
IMO they look great on Kalahari or Brownstone seats as they give a different texture to the center of the seat. They will also be optioned on my Z06.

I would be worried about keeping the suede clean and also if you left the top off or windows down what does rain do to suede?

Personally not that crazy over the look but just my opinion.

The suede inserts look great and are certain to assist in holding you in place during spirited driving. Unfortunately for me, after a work out or a round of golf in the Florida summer, I sweat profusely. I always cover my seat with a towel in those instances, but the leather beneath still gets wet and requires a wipe down. For me, it has to be the perforated leather and not the suede.

I have a night race blue convertible with gray interior -- upper suede package and suede seat inserts. I was a little concerned, at first, about how they would wear, but I think will be fine since it's not my daily driver. It believe it gives the car a richer look.

Just my opinion I like the leather look.
When I ordered the car the Sales Manager
really recommended the leather over the
suede. To me the leather looks like it
belongs in a sports car. This car is my
daily driver and think the leather will hold
up better. But each to his own. What ever
makes you happy go with it.

Snorman,
Would it be too much to kindly ask you to please post a pic of your black 2LT interior?
Thanks!
These are probably the best pics I have other than some more detailed shots of the dash, door panels, etc..

With competition seats, if you get suede on the seats, the steering wheel then comes in suede as well.

I sat in competition seats today for the first time. I loved the support the seats provided (I also sleep on an extremely firm mattress to help my lower back). However, the seats I sat in today had the suede, which means the wheel also is automatically suede. I really disliked the feel, and can only imagine trying to clean it after getting it sweaty.

Some people will love it, some will not. I do not. Only you will know what you want.

I don't think the "suede" is real leather. It is described on the Chevrolet.com site as "sueded microfiber inserts". So what is it, some kind of processed organic fiber, or man made material?

You're right, it's a tissue in microfiber which have the suede look, nothing to do with leather.

I have the micro suede inserts and upper package in my daily driver Brownstone and love them. The cooling in the seats works well too. I too was torn between whether to get the suede inserts or not and once I saw a Brownstone in person with them I was convinced. I got them and am happy I did. If years down the road I decide I don't like them, I'll just get them recovered. Until then I'll enjoy them.

And I would rather have real leather than micro-fiber. I like my full leather, but agree that the micro-fiber looks nice.

So it IS possible to get the microfiber/suede seat inserts without getting the microfiber/suede steering wheel?! (i.e. you CAN get the (real-)leather wrapped SW w/ the dual-texture seats.

Any comments on the microfiber/suede SW? (I'm less excited about that...)

My 3LT has MF inserts and upper panels, but the wheel is smooth leather with contrast stitching.
