What current C7 colors do you like (including whether you have ordered one), and what color(s) do you feel are missing from the C7 lineup?

While, as you know, Atomic Orange (AO) is not currently a C7 color, it could be if GM gets sufficient requests. That is what Chief C7 Engineer Tadge Juechter said at Carlisle. As the plant can only accommodate ten colors, bringing back AO would mean some color goes away. The soonest we could see AO is the 2015 model year, though here it is in imaginary form.

If you feel passionate about Atomic Orange needing to come back, and you would order a 2015 C7 in that color, please so note in your post and I will periodically send summarizing comments and total AO requests to Harlan Charles, C7 Product Marketing Manager. Harlan is an excellent listener and considers thoroughly all input he gets.

Thanks for this. This is a stunning color, I just don't know how I would feel about it a couple of years down the road? I guess the same can be said for the Lime Rock Green that has caught my eye on the current C-7. I will be curious to see if the LRG goes away after 2014? I suppose this all begs the question; Should GM be including more "fringe" colors for this car? If so what colors / tints would interest the rest of you beyond what is available now? If you are old enough to remember the late 60's-early 70's all the American car manufacturers had some pretty interesting colors available on their performance cars. i.e. The "Grabber" series Plum Crazy and the like.

Metallic orange is a must-have color for the Corvette. I am surprised they dropped it. I have a feeling it will come back, though. It must. Currently there are too many dark colors in the lineup. Dropping the orange was a poor decision in my opinion. I had a 2006 GTO that was Brazen Orange Metallic and it turned heads instantly wherever I was and was the most flattering color on that body. It screamed "muscle car."

It would be interesting to know how new colors are selected? Also, you have to wonder how many AO were sold when they were available? I fully expect that the LRG will go away after one year, but I wonder if sales (or lack of) of any given color factor into the decision to continue or kill it?

Good questions. I would wager it's based on prior sales figures for Corvette. Colors can also become year specific, too. As you suggest, LRG may only be available for the debut year then dropped. This kind of color availability happened with the GTO. Only the 2006 models were offered in Brazen Orange. And other colors were dropped. That may happen with the C7. Orange is an iconic American muscle car color and looks incredible on the Corvette. I can't see GM not offering it at some point.

Stats agree with Chip's above comments.

Atomic Orange Sales averaged approximately 7.5% of total sales in 2007/2008. Conversely, of the first 100 C7 sales, only one (1) was Lime Rock Green, and as noted, at least at the beginning of this year, it is just not looking good for LRG to be around in 2105. To further support this, the two 2013 colors, but not C7 colors, were Inferno Orange (only 1.3% of total 2013 sales) and Supersonic Blue Metallic (just 2.2% of 2013 sales).

If there is a groundswell of support for Atomic Orange, as Tadge said, it could be back.

My wife absolutely loved the Atomic Orange and would green light a 2014 if it were available in that color. We may still do a 2014 later in the year, once I'm better off with the equity on my Jeep SRT8 but if this becomes a 2015 color that would seal the deal and the timeline.

I would have bought a pearl white car in a second..it would have played off the carbon flash elements very well....
Agreed. I wish they had a pearl white or the white diamond they on the Cadillac CTS-V coupe. I could see that color match very well with the Kalahari interior.
I settle for the AW because that is the closest thing they have.

I would like to see special colors that are only available for 1 maybe 2 years. It makes for interesting sales increases and for collectable value, for those interested in such.
