It seems as though the tuners are working day and night on their performance offerings for the new C7 Corvettes! How the heck are they doing this?!? They got their hands on the 2014 Silverado and Sierra... Wait, what?!? Like the truck? Yeah, the truck. You may ask what on Earth the truck has to do with the whole new LT1. Well the two engines are both commanded by the E92 controller. This similarity has allowed them to take a peek into the tuning of the new motor and get some baseline graphs, charts, and spreadsheets, and all the things that tuners use to display the incredible amount of knowledge that rolls around their brains on a day to day basis. With that being said, Ling Perf Eng is working on a truck to make your car faster!

They have been tinkering with the L83 motor and gotten some pretty impressive numbers out of it:

The 93 octane pump gas powered 5.3 liter motor was able to produce 307 horse power at 5200 revolutions and an impressive 332 lb-ft at 4200 revolutions. This translates into a 7.5 second 0-60mph sprint, and a cool 15.94 seconds in the 1/4 mile, trapping at 90.7 mph. I would say that this ain't too bad for a pickup that tips the scales at 5,340 lbs. That’s over a full second and 4mph faster than LPE’s 2010 Silverado 5.3L, which also had more rear end gear (3.42 vs. 3.08:1).

Read more about this on GMHighTechPerformance.com to see a few graphs and dyno sheets.
