Interesting video:

GM Powertrain engineer John Rydzewski explains many of the features in the 2014 LT1 Corvette engine, including direct injection, continuous variable valve control, the rotating assembly, engine block, intake manifold, 11.5:1 compression ratio, and combustion system.

Wonder why the intake port surface is so rough? Wouldn't a smooth surface flow better? Or, does the rough surface cause necessary turbulence?

Thanks for posting regguy1. Very informative video, though if you watch it on a large screen can lead to motion sickness ;)

Very important for this engine : it have oil squirters and that's very good for the reliability under hard driving.
Good things also, the crankshaft is forged and the bearings are upgraded ones.
