Gonna look at the car Sunday. I gotta wonder if the A8 has ever had the shudder or the fluid change.

You can ask the owner if possible, if not and you have a good relationship with your Chevy dealer service tech, you could have them run the VIN and let you know of any problems the car has had. That is what I did before I purchased my 2018.
The dealer just got the car. I had a new 2019 C7 that had all kinds of probs and had to get rid of it at 400 miles. So hope i don't get another lemon. Had three C6's and never any probs. My 08 A6 is still like new. Still even got the Range device from my 2019 C7. The 2019 had the rear end warble and shudder at 400 miles and the worst lag i ever saw in a car. So the dealer is gonna have to prove there is no shudder or the triple flush has ever been done.
Good luck! Fortunately I have had no issues with my 2018.
I will see if i can take IT on a longer test ride. Loved the Z51 option on my 04 C5 .
Z51 option is great, other than needing 9.5 qts of Mobil 1 for an oil change, which I only do once per year on average. My 2014 Z51 is still problem free. Good luck on your quest.

***Mine is a manual trans though.

The Dealer can run the VIN and find out everything that was done to it by any Dealership.
I will make sure they run a check. I don't think anyone really knows if there ever was a true fix for shudder. Still scares me.

My 2015 had the shudder that showed up at 30,000miles. It was because GM originally used a tranny fluid that absorbed moisture. After posting about the issue in this forum I was made aware of the problem and took the car to the Dealer who confirmed it had been an issue. They flushed it 3 times with the latest and greatest fluid and the tranny never felt better.
I am going down to see the car now. I know all these dealers act dumb about this stuff. Maybe the car fax will show if anything was ever done.
Well the car was on the rack. Did not test drive it. Looks good on the outside and on the under side. Has a clear top so that is not good Hard to see the inside but sounded good on start up.
Car fax shows nothing in the way of any T/C work or triple flush. Did say the trans was serviced in 2018. Maybe some of these A8's never had the shudder problem? Gotta go back when the car is ready. This is a 3LT with NNP and 57k miles.
Should get to drive the car later today. I hope the dash is ok as the car was on the rack and i could not look at it.
Car drives like a dream. Nothing like my 2019 C7.
Tell dealer U won't buy it unless They do GM Recommend Triple Flush. My 15 Z51 had Shudder at 12k Miles , Did Triple Flush Myself and now Drives like a different car . Good Luck!
Seems they did in 2018. They have serviced this car for years and seems to be one of them freak cars that never seemed to have any probs. It is now mine. I sure notice more brake dust with this Z51 over my non Z51's.

Congratulations! Enjoy it (y)(y)(y)
Thanks. It is nite and day DIFF from my messed up 2019 C7. With the better gear it feels pretty fast from a stop.

I agree! Have dealer do a preemptive triple flush. Our ‘15 Z51 had the shudder issue at 12K miles (original double flush with original fluid under warranty) and again this spring had the shudder and had to pay $789 for a triple flush. Car runs better than ever now, very smooth acceleration and no hard clunking between gear shifts. We are keeping our fingers crossed this will fix the issue! I love our Z51!!!! Hope you do too!
Love the car. Only gripe is the clear top and the big time brake dust. Hope to wrap the top if it will stick to it. New top is over $2k. Glad i kept my Range device from my 2019 C7.
