I love Porsches, and maybe it did win, but you have to consider price, and I am willing to bet that in day to day driving, the Vette will be every bit as rewarding as a 911 and you no longer have to make the excuse "yeah but it only costs".........

Honestly, had they used a Carrera S instead of a 4S the outcome would have been different and no excuses would have to be made. I'm still not sure how a car that's slower on the track, 0-60, 1/4 mile and takes longer to stop (with carbon fiber brakes and less weight) wins? (and I'm a certified Porsche nut too having owned 8 of them)

I agree, at some point they are going to have to acknowledge the Vette is the fastest car, comparably equipped AND best bargain. No more asterisks. Its a bit humorous to watch these so called journalist trying to fight there way around putting a blue ribbon on the hood of a Vette. I am not quite ready to jump on the bandwagon, but the evidence so far has been pretty overwhelming.

In reality the Stingray beat the 911 at the track and it gave a good run for the money to that Ferrari. The Stingray deserves the crown. Do you know if that Z51 had the MRSC and the Competition seats? Great car!

All of them offer far more performance than you'll ever be able to use on the street, so a 10th or two to 60 is pretty meaningless for most. The Ferrari is so expensive it's simply not even worth comparing for most of us. And the Porsche looks like an appliance. It won't get a second glance on the street, unlike the Corvette which is drop dead gorgeous. I didn't buy it to be noticed, but it does feel good to be driving a car that is this striking.
