It was a fantastic experience for my wife and me when we picked up our '06 Z, so good, we,will be doing it again next September/October when we get our next Corvette. Saw that "fdxpilot" already gave you the key link. You've probably already gone to the link, but for others who don't, here's summary from the NCM web site.

"The Delivery: The customer arrives at the NCM with up to three additional guests of age 7 and up, total (4), and is welcomed with signs commemorating the event. They are taken to the Corvette Assembly Plant (located across the street from the NCM) for their own NCM Delivery Team guided VIP tour (when available). Museum Delivery customers will be transported to the Corvette Assembly Plant for a tour in a GM courtesy vehicle. All non-GM vehicles driven by guests wishing to transport themselves is acceptable and has a designated area. View complete plant required guidelines here.

A personal, special VIP guided tour of the NCM is conducted where they will see their Corvette on display. Next, a member of the NCM Delivery Team provides a quality orientation followed by a thorough delivery presentation of their new vehicle. A unique gold decal is placed on the inside of the drivers door jamb to signify the importance of this memorable occasion."

However, it is so much more than that, for you get to have your vehicle PDI's by the absolute best in the country, who know your Corvette inside and out, who have unique relationships BGAP plant personnel. Also, the Delivery Specialist who spends the approximate 5-6 hours with you, has done this many times before, knows not only the questions Corvette owners raise, but, most importantly, shares accurate answers to you, and helps you set up your car displays and more the way you want your car to be.

Happy to answer any specific questions you have. Also, for all who have questions, suggest you also call Lori (program manager) or her assistant Shane at: 1.800.53.vette.

Fantastic program (!!!), though no champagne.

Summed it up nicely John. I just completed my delivery on October 24th. Worth every penny to me.

As an aside from someone who has been associated with the museum and assembly plant for 10 years, someone who's family is from Bowling Green and someone who has lived there the last four years (recently moved), I don't appreciate the prior ******* comment.

Also with the Museum Delivery....
It is probably a good idea to give your specialist of the day a good gratuity. For all the time and information they share with you it would be a very good gesture.
(Recommended $40-50 range)

JMHO!:)

TWO TOPS: Today I was watching the Musium delivery, and one of the first things they do is to remove the top and secure it in the back and show how that is done. Today, on a delevery, they popped the hatch and there was a top already in there. So I guess people are ordering a second top. This guy had a color match top in the back and black CF one on the car. Never gave any thought, when I ordered mine. So something to think about?

I thought the CF tops were on "CONSTRAINT" so you may not be able to change your order and keep your delivery date. But I imagine one could order a second top after delivery for a nominal price.

Thanks for all the great info.
Dr.... When did they contact you to set up the delivery date? two weeks in advance? Did they give you any dates to choose from?
Mine is scheduled to be built, but haven't heard from the museum yet.

To those interested in a Museum delivery it is beyond amazing. The following is an excert from our thank you to the staff: "My wife and I left the Museum Thursday afternoon October 17th, after a wonderful, awe inspiring day hosted by the Museum and Team Members. The experience will never be forgotten by either one of us and frankly is virtually impossible to relate the emotions and overall feelings we felt to others. Not only was the day filled with depth of experience, history and technology it made us feel closer to those at the factory devoting their lives to making a quality product they are proud of as well as those at teh Museum helping to carry on the traditions of a great company and a great car. We thank you so much for your continued efforts for those of us who are so proud to be part of your international efforts to keep the "Dream" alive." Our suggestion to those buying a new Corvette. Just do it and take full advantage of what the Plant and the Museum offers to new owners. You won't regret a minute of your time spent or the cost/benefit.

Mfloote: Thanks for posting Scott, and so glad your Museum Delivery exceeded your expectations. Really happy your 2900 mile home to the great state of Oregon went so well for you two! [Live here in this great and beautiful state, with its fantastic, curvy, "Corvette exercising" roads.]

Enjoy your beautiful car!
