So I've got to teach a one day class for BMW in Orlando on the new 4 series next week. The trip will be about 450 miles, all interstate, and in two overnight hotel parking lots. I have no XPEL and would painters tape the front for the front end. The vette would go thru a few tanks of gas too...

So is there an alternative?

Yes!

A budget rental econobox for $24 a day!

Benefits:
No worries of car getting dinged, or messed in any way.
Cheaper
No wash when I get home...

Consider it next time you have a "non fun run" to make....

Definitely less fun! But you'll protect your Stingray, though...unless your garage catches fire or a hurricane destroys it while you're gone. LOL

Jeez, that's no fun. I took my 427 to a safety conference in Atlanta last fall. It made a dull road trip much more fun. Not to mention all the looks, when I drove around downtown Atlanta!

Fdxpilot, You are right, I'm going to drive the wheels off my C7 (daily driver) The only place I won't be able to drive my Vette is on the tank trails aboard Camp Lejeune.

The key here is "non fun" as in 250 miles of straight line flat I-95 thru the center of Florida. So glad I decided on the rental car, looks as if the bugs are starting to come out too....the Vette wiil stay in my underground garage, safe and clean...this is what happens every April and September in central Florida....LOVE bugs!

Glen, dam 250 miles. you were plastered! I went to SC this summer to see the lighthouses, and those bugs were all over the front of our white cube. I see your point and you don't have Xpel on the front. Love Bugs turn into Gut Bugs on the front of you car!

I've driven through those Florida bugs a number of times. Make sure the window washer reservoir is full! LOL

Normally I'd say take the Vette! However, having lived through many love bug seasons in Louisiana and Florida both, I agree! Rent something that someone else has to wash. :D
