Well it is finally here. The eve of my trip to Bowling Green. I don't think I can sleep. In 7 hours, my flight from Newark to Charlotte to Nashville takes off. Gotta try to sleep a few hours. Have to get up at 0400 and be in the car headed to airport at 0430. My wife decided to name the car since I have not. She loves naming stuff. She will be called 'Lucille'. Fitting name for a Torch Red beauty. Bought an Apple laptop just for this trip to document same. Love this thing. Hoping my Corvette buy is equally pleasing. This is my first Corvette. Almost bought a Saturn Sky. Then Saturn went out of business. So I kept saving.... and saving...and then the C7 was revealed to me live in January 2013. And it was love at first sight.

I'm supposed to be there 0745 Thu morning. Delivery will be after the tours in the afternoon. Tomorrow is my travel day, and I plan to tour the museum on my own. I like to take it slow and read all the stuff.

Ragtop,

When did the museum call you to set up the delivery? I assume your TPW was 5/5, correct?

My TPW is 5/26 and they called last week to get the wording for the plaque and said they would call back as soon as they have the production day to schedule the pickup. I went 3400 Monday so it's in the plant's system and should have a projected build day.

Enjoy the trip. We can't wait till our turn comes in a few weeks.

Be sure to wave at the camera Ragtop! We will be watching you!
The moment you walk through those doors and see all those Corvettes lined up, and knowing yours is there it will take your breath away. My wife started to tear up with joy and that got me a little choked up as well, totally unexpected emotions. Enjoy the moment!

Congrats Ragtop, may this be everything and more than you expected. I enjoy reading about threes pick ups as my wife just rolled her eyes at me when I suggested we do the museum pick up. So keep the words and pictures coming!

Thanks for all the comments guys! Finally made it to hotel in Bowling Green after an afternoon boozing on Broadway in Nashville, lol. BTW if you like Southern soul food, a great lunch place the locals all go to is called Arnold's. Awesome fried catfish and okra! I decided to hang out there because my buddy is flying down for the occasion and it didn't make sense to drive all the way to Bowling Green for a few hours then return to pick him up. Unfortunately he got hung up on his connection in Charlotte and won't be arriving until a little later, so I drove wife to hotel in BG and am sitting here typing this then have to drive back to Nash to pick him up.

It looks like my car is on delivery cam 5 AND 6. One camera is clearer than the other, forget which one. Only a few cars on the Blvd right now, a pair of dark ones on one side, then mine and a Crystal Red coupe. Rumfits, I will provide you with entire itinerary and hotel reviews. Semper Fi!

Smokey, I was so happy watching you and your wife, I hope watching us brings back some great recent memories. Mark, my TPW was 4/7/14, rolled off line on 4/9/14. I was a bit proactive and called and checked on this with dealer, then immediately called museum and set delivery date, because we each had to take a week of vacation. I actually put in for my vacation on 3/1/14 anticipating the TPW would be on or about that week in April, and purposely delayed NCM delivery to ensure I would have nice Spring weather driving back. Later tonight, I will research how to post pics so I can post them on this thread.

Once again to my Stingray family, thanks for being with me on this journey!

Btw Tom, my wife is very excited to be here, probably because she enjoys seeing me so happy. I chalked this all up to a vacation to justify the additional expense.

Ragtop,

Coincidentally the museum called today to schedule my pickup. Mine is supposed to roll off the line on 5/29 and we set a delivery date of 6/12!

Enjoy your day, I'm sure it will be special.

Ragtop-
Just checked her out, she looks great!

Funny thing about my wife she loves the car and drives it as much or more than I do. She never blinked an eye on putting in radar detector and laser jammer. She just thought it was over the too to go pick up the car. I know we will have another corvette in our future so will look forward to doing a pick up then.

Just checked your weather forecast. Looks to be top down for you all the way home!

Have a great day today!
