That's how you make lemonade from a lemon.
Lol........somebody is gonna get pretty sticky from that dried up lemonade! They did put in the description that it was a buyback from Lemon Law proceedings.

Just curious: would someone be crazy to buy this car at this point? I mean the description says it was fixed. Personally I wouldn't touch it in a million years, but you know someone is going to buy it eventually. So is that person crazy or justified for the right price? Which by the way $62K is not.

Some cars are lemon lawed because the mfr could not fix the car in time allowed. Parts were not avail in time. Some are fine if you can find out what happened. I bought a BMW 7 series back in 1997 because the wipers squueked. The new part did the same thing so he got his money back. 2 months later we got a new wiper part and car went on the lot and sold thereafter.

I would buy that car in a heartbeat because I know what the problem was and that it's not indicative of a real mechanical defect. Add to that it includes a lifetime powertrain warranty just to cover you in case it is something major. Had I not known the car I would ask for a copy of all service records to confirm the type of problem and whether I trusted the fix.

Don't take this the wrong way but liberal lemon laws such as those in CA means a lot of perfectly good cars end up in this state. If you are smart you can score a great deal.

I will just add to this: BMW did a study in 2001 of their buy back cars and how the new owner liked them, the answer was overwhelmingly satisfied because we fixed the car and the problem was gone. I would much more scared of a structural problem like a body/wrecked frame damage than a mechanical lemon law car, if I could look at the service records, as Mark says...

California? Liberal? Say it ain't so!.....LOL. The thought has crossed my mind to inquire on this car again, but alas, the wife said NO WAY! My only concern at this point would be the 300 plus miles on it from turn in at 2519, and who may have thrashed it during that span. Funny how it went from Moreno Valley CA to Ohio. The 62K asking price is 10K lower than I paid (MSRP), and well below the Blue Book value.

The Lemon Law proceedings were started before I fully understood the root cause of the oil leak. All it really needs is the catch can and clean side separator, and somebody who won't overfill it with oil. The weatherstripping in the trunk was still ripped, there was a rattle on the passenger side of the convertible top and a bad rattle coming from the R/R well well area, other than that, it ran fine. When they dangled a COMPLETE refund of everything in front of me, I jumped on it. Anybody else have a 2014 Stingray "loaner" for 2 1/2 months? My ONLY expenses on that car were gasoline and one R/R tire that got "screwed."

it went from cal to ohio in the national auction system, I'm sure....

https://www.manheim.com/locations/

dealers from the winter states routinely travel to sunny locations and buy product, so they can put them on their lot and advertise they are "non salt" cars....

Hey, just a thought, but if the new owner of the car did a little homework and didn't allow the car to be over filled with oil and installed a catch can and clean side separator system like many of us have discovered, the car will probably serve them very well. Might even be trouble free. I stand corrected here if I missed something along the way, but if I recall correctly, Ret9580 got pretty frustrated with the situation at the time and began to have thoughts he may have been a little premature in filing his lemon law claim, at which time it was too late to turn back..... Please correct me if I'm wrong here?

I purchased A car that had been given back to the dealer.A used car bought it from an auto auction and sold it to me.
The problem was in the computer.A new computer was put in.I bought it at 18000 miles, and sold it over 120,000 miles. No problems
At all.I'm saying this lemon law car might be A good car now.
