Picked up yesterday at Hendricks in Cary(Raleigh), NC and drove home to Hilton Head, SC

Cyber Gray, 2lt, Jet Black Coupe, CC3 Glass Top, FAY Carbon Fiber Interior, UY4 Navi, NPP Exaust
Originally ordered the Kalahari interior but, after seeing 12 pictures of this color and what appeared to be 12 different shades of Kalahari, I took the safe route and changed to black. Happy I did because I wasn't real fond of the two tone interior. This flows very nicely into the Cyber exterior. By the way, the stitching is gray. White would have been too much of a contrast.

OK... First...checked the car inside and out with a magnifying glass. Perfect. I don't think I've ever had a new car delivered in this condition. The Cyber Gray is a very, very rich looking color.
2nd...the ride. Biggest surprise. Smooth as can be on the highway and around town. Very impressed.
3rd...Glass top on...90* bright overhead sun. With air on cabin was very comfortable although you need sun glasses and a visor when the sun is beating straight down.
4th...Glass top on...varying hwy speeds on I 95...NO WIND NOISE...WOW!!!
5th...Glass top off...sun directly overhead...BOTH the head up display and the info screen were bright and clear.
6th...Infotainment system...took me all of 10 seconds to pair the iphone 4s. Connected the ipod to the usb port. I realize the sound is a personal thing but I thought it was great...with and without the top on. I will say it is going to take a little time to learn the sysyem.
7th...2nd Biggest surprise...MPG...again varying highway speeds. Did a 50 mile check in ECO in 7th gear...same in Touring mode. ECO 33.3 MPH. Touring 33.7 MPH
8th...Manual Trans...Haven't had one in a while but very easy to pick up. The only thing I have to get used to is going from 5th to 6th the shifter seems to want to take me back to 4th...maybe to remind me reverse is over there.
9th...back to the seats...very comfortable

On the lighter side:

I was about 50 yards out of the dealer's lot, stopped for a light, 2 cars came by blasting the horn with the thumbs up.
Actually saw about 40 people on the hwy auditioning for the next Exorcist movie. As they passed me their heads would twist farther and farther around to get a good look at the front. One guy in a suv jumped from the front seat to the back to take some pictures. Another guy comes up beside me doing about 90, hits the brakes and gives me a 5 second thumbs up, then he's off to the races again.

Couple of minor suggestions:
I need to put the seat back to make entry and exit a little easier. You can push a button on the door to move the seat back and use the mem button to return BUT you have to keep you finger on the button the whole time. Would have been nice to have a "one push" system or have the seat move automatically when the engine is started and stopped.
The cup holders aren't going to hold any oversize cup (how's that for being picky????)

All the above is written WITHOUT HAVING READ THE MANUAL. Maybe I'll find some things and be surprised.

I've seen this written before but I'll repeat it...as good as this car looks in pictures it looks better in person. It's worth the wait. On the way to the airport yesterday, to fly to Raleigh, my wife asked me "what's with you and this corvette" When I pulled in the driveway last night she was sitting on the front porch. Her first words were "Oh My God" I love this. No wonder you wanted one. Enough said.

Cyber11 - May have a hint for you regarding the memory seats. I just bought a new Sierra and had the same reaction to having to hold the button while the seat, mirrors and pedals adjusted to my settings. Then realized that once the seatbelt is engaged the feature works with a single touch. I bet it's the same on the vette. Give it a try

Thanks for the writeup Cyber11. Particularly like the info on the transparent panel. Regarding that, how difficult was it for you to remove and store (presuming you don't lift weights :) )?

Thanks for your personalized review. I enjoyed reading it.

If the transparent top allows too much light or heat through, do you think it could be tinted with window type tinting film? Are there any irregular edges that could pose a problem in tinting?

Loved your comment about your wife's positive reaction.

most tint will not stay on plastic top without bubbling after a while...better to wait for a suction cup shade that will be offered soon by vendors...

I plan on getting my transparent panel tinted with a clear heat rejection film when they do my C7 windows. I had that done on my XTS which has an enormous sun roof. You can not tell it has the film but it certainly cuts back on the heat that comes through here in Vegas.

Cyber11,

My Stingray was delivered on September 23 and according to the reaction I have been receiving, it is the first one many people have seen. Like you, drivers were going crazy trying to check it out. I chose with the Torch red with Black interior and at the time regretted not going with Kalahari, but honestly, I think my instincts were right with the black. I have to totally agree with you that this car is awesome in person than in pictures. And it definitely drives better than it looks. I have currently logged in 435 miles since getting it and I can't pull my self from driving it. I feel like a little kid on christmas day everyday. For all those of you waiting, hang on, you will be so excited when you get it. This is definitely the best corvette yet!!! and I have had three...

Was able to do it myself but it's easier with 2 people. With the hatch open 2 people can lift, carry it over the back and place it in the locked down position. I've done it 3 times now on my own so it can be done but it's somewhat of a juggling act. FYI...I can lift a 5lb weight at least 3 times.

Thanks for the clarification...I can lift a 5lb weight at least 3 times Is that a clean pull? ;) I am not sure I have enough time before RedHot is ready to be picked up at the Museum to increase my upper body strength :)

Couldn't agree more. I had somebody in a pickup follow me into a parking lot today and ask if he could take some pictures. The more I drive it the more I'm amazed at the quality...ride and everything else.

Just started reading the manual. Apparently you can set the entry/exit button into the memory and then set it to a "easy exit" feature. I'll try it tomorrow.

Negative on the clean pull. More of a lift, grunt and look for the heating pad. Twenty years ago I could do 10lbs without a problem.

Isn't getting old grand :) But then again, we tend to have more time for our toys.

Looks like you don't have Z51. Is there there a 5 position knob on the console to adjust handling? Have you tried it??
All C7s whether Z51 or base versions have the 5 position driver control knob (Weather, Eco, Tour, Sport and Track). Some of the functions are identical on both versions, some are in addition on the Z51, and further if you have the mag system and electronic limited slip differential on the Z51. In that case (with the mag system) you have the maximum number of possible components impacted by which of the 5 positions you set the driver control to.
