Well, the "fix" and reflash didn't work. Of course it died on the way up to CT.

If people remember, they replaced the screen per GM advice. After that, I told them still had trouble with it and they were to re-flash it
at the last oil change. Supposedly it was done, but looking at the work order, it's not listed. (hhhmmmm)

It crapped out on the Way to CT., from FL.

Keep us posted and see if there are any new PIP's or TSB's that give techs guidance on this issue. I got to thinking about this issue and wondered if there is a faulty control module or a failed com. circuit that is the cause of your problem and not the screen?

A little more.

It was flashed the other day.

This also had a few more "signs/symptoms" with it.

1. the radio, menu etc buttons/controls froze, would not work
2. the hud projector would go back to default setting when it finally reset after shut down start up. if hud didn't go to default, it didn't reset system and would still be all frozen
3. radio had like an arc/static intermittently
4. after ending call on phone with Bluetooth, radio would be mute till I moved volume control

the Bluetooth freezing is a known problem - reflash that
so they reflashed
hud
upper radio/Bluetooth
radio controls
think nav was re-done as well

I can't say enough about the service guys. Of course they were swamped, but hoped they could see if there were any codes stored, and then hash it out with gm techs. Only code stored was memory seat communication error. - known issue, no fix as of yet.

But they kept going and found the other stuff and did whole thing as I waited, and I was a drive up at 1130

So I hope it works now, but am impressed and grateful for the service.

With great service, give them a shout out so others in your area who read this thread later can consider their service department if they are looking for one.

Why? What's going on (or not) with it?
I took his statement to mean that he is now just waiting to see if the problem comes back again or not. Maybe it is truly fixed, but it will take some time before he feels completely confident.

At least, that is what I thought he meant.

Exactly. Since it only happens intermittently.

Heading down to Ft. Myers second week in November with my brand new 2015 (doubt is I'll have more than 200 miles on it before I leave from Cape Cod). Stopping in Venice for a night with friend. Would like to know your dealer in case I have a problem.
thanks

Thanks Ron for both links. Hopefully I won't need Bill Buck, but can always use a good burger.

Honestly, not sure it's fixed.... But their caring and commitment to service impressed me.
ronkh, I'm glad to read they took care of the situation for your C7. Most everything can be repaired or replaced, but you are right it is the commitment to service that impresses me at any dealership!!
